well huh i might have to disagree. or at least, it depends who's flinging them. mazzy star certainly doesn't make my top 5...

imo here's the only person who doesn't look like a complete idiot when on stage with a tambourine:

to be honest, surely he gets close to the "tambourine alert OMG!!" zone but he escapes unharmed... 
so that's sort of proof of trent's coolness: because even tambourine can't hurt him!


(seriously speaking, in my opinion tambourines are about the last thing out there for any musician who has any self respect.
even robert used to fall on his face and decide to fling a tambourine at times, like at least on 'piggy in the mirror' during the WMS - uhhuh. anyway i blame his tamourine adventures completely on roger.
in general i wouldn't really mind if tambourines were simply declared ILLEGAL or something.)

I think it is easier for women to do the "tambourine thing" without damaging their image. It is a feminine kind of instrument, at least PLAYING IT is a feminine kind of thing. And that's the main reason Roger looks ridiculous doing it while Hope doesn't.

I guess the only men that could play the tambourine without having their manhood put in question would probably be Jim Morrison and Ian Astbury (in his Indian days...). Maybe Mick Jagger, too?

and luckily the video is a bitdistant (and generated enough to be slightly blurry) - that makes it easier to bear too.
