I hope a definite announcement about this added show is made soon. I've already bought my plane tickets for the CA shows, but to add one more show I'll happily try to change them! 4 shows in less than a week--just like heaven!
I'll probably add this show as well. I already have that day off from work, so why not? :-D
My only real concern about adding it is getting from San Jose to Santa Barbara with time to both sleep and get there early for the second show, since we have general admission tickets. I wonder what the GA capacity for the Santa Barbara Bowl is and how early we need to show up if we want to be nice and close!
I'm not too worried about getting there eary since I have a seat. I was going to go for the pit, but opted to stick with my sweet spot behind the mixing desk. You'll understand why at a later time not too long after the show 8)
It should be between 4 and 5 hours to drive to Santa Barbara, right?
I think it's about 4.5 hours, depending on traffic, yep. If only I could go without sleep for just one day!
I couldn't resist pit tickets for this one show since Cure fans are so nice to be in a pit with in my experience at Curiosa--but your location makes me quite happy too. ;) I have high hopes for the Santa Barbara show--the small size of the venue should make for a really intimate night and I hope the band really takes advantage of it.

(a thread for this gig was missing for some reason....)
edit: wasn't missing, just strayed on a wrong board. topics merged now.
supposedly they are trying to use the entire arena according to the map, we will see how that turns out
Anyone been to a concert there before? What are the acoustics like?
I'm willing to bet they won't even sell 2/3 of the SJ Arena or ahem HP Pavillion.
Yes...going to be interesting indeed.

Same here.
Same here!!!!
Was planning on getting in the GA line at SB around noon.
Don't know what the hell im going to do now.
I'm starting to rationalize it a bit by thinking that 2 shows, 2 nights in a row, might beat being on the railing for one show. Quantity over quality, style of thing...;)
Yeah, I see where you're coming from, but SB is the only on the railing oppertunity this time.
ughhh
I'm trying to figure out what to do.
Thinking an early AM flight from SJ to SB.
Presale begins in less than an hour. Good luck for those attempting to get tickets. Let's hope the presales offer up some primo spots this time around.
Wow, TM was coming up with tickets all over the place EXCEPT the floor. Then, after numerous swear words not fit for this forum, I tried once again and was given a pretty sweet spot. :-D
We managed to get Floor 2 row 29. Should be nice and central if a bit far back--are all of the floor seats cheaper than the one in the stands??
row 12 for me. I was noticing the cheaper seats on the floor. Weird :? Can't say I'm complaining, though.
Multiple pulls of floor after several tries, but between 6 to 12 rows behind crowbi. Do you have a center or side?
I wondered if the floor's got folding chairs or something that some people might consider less than desirable...but not me!! Heheh.

Simon's side.
I'm coming from Washington (the sasquatch date) to see this show, is there any good place to drink close by the HP Pavilion? I'm so excited I get to see them twice! I hope I'll drive safe..

I hope you'll not even THINK about drinking and driving. :)
nahh, no drinking and driving for me. I'm getting a hotel there so hopefully it will be close enough to the venue, but if not I'll have a designated driver. I saw someone say there in the 12th row, sooo am i! section 1
We got a hotel that's right next to the venue so we can walk to the show. Good for drinking and GREAT for not having to deal with parking! (I just wish I could figure out how to drink at a show and not have to keep running off to the ladies' room. Maybe this is why Robert keeps playing Edge of The Deep Green Sea about halfway though every show?)
Here are some dining options within walking distance to the venue based on research:
La Pastaia http://www.lapastaia.com/
A.P. Stump's .http://www.apstumps.com/
Seven has great fries, but is a lot noisier. http://www.7restaurant.com/
and the one you want
http://apfwinebar.com/
Of course there's always the crap inside the venue. $4+ waters where you don't get to keep the cap and overpriced overcooked ball park food.
they didn't mention this date on latest posting on the official, that doesn't mean anything right?? I don't think it means anything. I mean if it was canceled or something horrible like that they would say something.....right? ahh.
They finally added it to the "events" topics yesterday after I made a comment, someone else made a comment, and Craig mentioned it on Chain of Flowers. It's on!
good good. man it's so close, this is going to be the best month of my life..
i live in san jose! i just about fell of my chair when i was listening to the local radio station announce that the cure would be doing a show here with 65daysofstatic, just a few months after download festival. id like to see them again, and twice still wouldnt be enough!
the hp pavillion is also where our city holds the sharks (our hockey team) games. i heard that the last time robert was here, i think for the wish tour - he wore a sharks jersey
im in the process of procuring a photo pass for 65days (LOVE THEM), and was actually offered to shoot the cure. i had to say no, im no professional - just a kid with a point and shoot - it wouldnt do well with a press pit of photogs and their pro cams. i dont think the record company even knows im just a kid lol
Let's hope the boys got the pop out of the way up in Vansnoozer and feel like playing something a bit darker, more obscure this evening. It should be a "Disintegration" night, but you never know. With the improvement of Robert's voice on no days rest and a short set, I'm anxious to hear if there's been anymore improvement with having last night off. Should be a good one tonight :)
no cameras allowed! WTH!
lol, Vansnoozer, but seriously, I am patiently awaiting the San Jose show before I jump to any conclusions about the potential setlist at the bowl or san diego.

Somewhat new to this site, and it seems that I find something impressive each time i log-on. Sorry for the naivety. As well, not that it matters, since I will be at the Hollywood show, but will you have live feeds for
both the LA shows?
it looks like we're having them ;)
