Simon's best bass line?
« on: August 19, 2014, 15:37:48 »
Continuing with the topic about Simon's third place in a top bassists list. What's your favorite Cure bass line?

This must be his finest:

(still searching in my brain database for another, cause I am sure I am missing one)
Strangers passing in the street, by chance two separate glances meet and I am you and what I see is me...

Slowdive's Nick Chaplin (!) answered this question on Twitter. Here are his favorites:

Some very cool choices there!  :smth023

I would like to add "Just like heaven".

Well there are so many which could be added: Fascination Street, Sinking, Figurehead etc. etc.!
but memory's not life... and it's not love.

My choice is, quite spontaneous, Sinking and...Stop Dead!

Definitely! I usually forget how cool they are (my first thought was Fascination Street, as you could imagine. :P) I just had to take a look through the Cure discography to remember those cool bass riffs.

Also i'd like to add It's Over, Torture, and Burn. Just outstanding stuff.
