Does anyone know the correct speed for Hammersmith Odeon 82 because the songs for Deluxe version of Pornography is a tad bit speedier then the regular version.

the speed is 1.1 in a speed corrector of musical media player

[voice 1 - male]: "Yeah, and bring the van..."

"Oh no, the lights [???] gone out on the truck And they took the tyres and the gas"

[keyboard starts]

[voice 1]: "They've robbed the cash register too!"

What? Is there a program that will automatically detect the speed/pitch of music? I always compare the pitch by using instruments, etc., which can a major pain and rather time consusming...

Sounds too good to be true, so I'll await your answer. :-D

Yes Caley ! Sounds pretty interesting ! We're waiting for your answer male21 !

well, it is very strange, but i have some stupid program, i will upload it later, which can correct speed.

I wouldn't call it a stupid program if it can somehow tell the correct speed. :D What's it called?

I agree with Caley! It is very consuming!
This weekend I put myself to correct the speed of my Brussels 1980 bootleg (not really from Brussels, but Herford, Germany).
By tuning my guitar ans comparing with the tuning of Roberts guitar (rather than the tuning of the keyboard) I found that a 92.35% stretch would correct the speed and tunig of the tracks (hope this is useful for someone).
I think I will also correct the speed of the 2nd BBC session (the one with desperate journalist) wich I've seen at different speed but never the right one on different boots...

Cool. Glad to hear there are others out who go through the troubles of "tuning" Cure recordings. What I dread most are the ones that have different speeds throughout. Those are a major pain!!!

And to answer the first question, I think it's impossible without hearing exactly what you have. I think there is a common version of this show circulating, but there could be others, or different generations, possibly with different speeds. But if you have the same one as I do, it's definitely off. I haven't bothered to test it yet.

Still waiting for this "magical tool" to be revealed...

I'll keep this thread alive because I'd like to see more comments.
I've been using Audio Edit de Luxe trial version. After the end of the trial period you can still use it, but only recently I noticed a problem, you can stretch, but you cannot shrink, so you can slow down recording but not speed them! So I used a Cool edit trial to correct a Smiths bootleg uploaded by Ron "The butterfly collector", and with a #1 correction (around 94 %) seems to reach the correct speed. Haven't tried adobe Audition (is it freeware?) but wanted to try Sound Forge but you have to download a lot of stuff!!! Can you tell me about Adobe Audition?
