I don't really care at this point about a new album. The Cure gave me already musically a lot, and I am happy enough if they
1) Play a few European gigs
2) Return to Orange and play The Top/The Head On The Door/KMKMKM
Am I hoping too much?

No David, but I think
this year is not over yet and The Cure is always good for a surprise.
I suppose that Lol will finish and publish volume two of
Cured next year. That seems to be
realistic.
Wish
i wish a European Tour including the song upstairs room and splintered in her head.
I wish all the past members play together at a concert in order to take breaks and the concert longer last.3 hours is not enough.
I wish Robert make a stage diving (a small diet before would be cool :-D)
I wish Simon stop wearing this H&M T-shirt with iron maiden.
I wish Reeves will come dressed Santa Claus this Christmas because with his new look looks like.
I wish Porl to change his dressing and hair style. He is freaking me out.
I wish a book about the cure from all the past members in order to spend my time at the holidays.Good idea to get some money like Lol :-D
I wish a duo Robert- Morrisey ( not celebrity deathmatch).
I wish a longer sideburn for Simon.
I wish more inspiration like the 80s in case they do a new album.
I wish the Cure forum will open again to have fun with Levensweg
I wish the cure cover Ramones (commando).
I wish the cure to have good health and continue to play until they become 80 years old like the Rolling Stones. That means for sure we can hear at least 2 more european tours since they touring every 8 years.
thats all fokes.
My "hopes" for 2018:
a) the minimum would be: more news from the band
b) maximum would be: a new album + tour
(anything inbetween like a festival tour would be fine!)

 Don't think any of this will
ever happen... :-D
My basic wish is :
New album released
But i hope that they also give us news about their next tour, or at least hint that they are going to play in some festivals next year
I also wish they give us some news on their rumoured live compliation DVD/BRD

Not sure if 80, but from your hallucinating list I can see Bob playing until his 70s... fingers crossed!

Yep, let's hope so! (But maybe we should not look too far; I think maybe we will hear something around 2019, to commemorate Robert's 60th birthday...)
Btw, Keith & Mick (of the Stones) both are 74 this year, let's hope they'll reach 80 too.
oh yes he will play until 80 :-D
Well, I had no proper idea initially apart from Lol's book and this year
was really quiet so far. Some 'wishes' from simons-sideburn are at least
worth to think and talk about. I would like to see one or two Reflection shows
in Germany with Lol or even with Matthieu Hartley. Is that too much?
- 4:14 Nightmare or whatever it's going to be called
- If they can't release an album can they at least release a single or EP or two?
- Wish remaster including on vinyl (apparently there are better methods of pressing now) and at least including Lost Wishes (I'm telling myself 10" vinyl EP would be great)
- Wish we could've gotten Porl back
- If Jason is to be replaced the only two options in my mind are Andy or Budgie
- Get Laurence back in the band! On keyboards and secondary percussion, much like the rig he used for Reflections

Option A more likely than option B. That is, both options are ZERO likely.
However, if only they could get Budgie with Simon... OH DEAR!!
That would be one of the best rythmic sections ever, pure legend.
Budgie is even better than Boris and Andy put together.

As for Lol, I think it would be likely only if Robert decided to sack everyone but himself and Simon.
Robert+Simon+Lol... they could call the album "Double Penetration" or something dodgy. Arf.
Electronic like Levinhurst (or LGTB/The Walk), but darker (and better), and with some guitar and bass here and there.
We can only dream, of course.
Something will happen for sure, we have just to wait
As usual, we will have to wait and see (not sure if abovementioned quote concerns only Lol's ideas & plans or The Cure's...)! popcorn

QuoteLol also recently tweeted about another writing project, with the working title Cured Part 2.
"There will actually be two more books," he smiles. "One is a sequel – I don't want to give too much away. It's a little different. The other one is a graphic novel that I'm going to do with Porl because he's such a great artist. So there are two on the horizon but it won't be for a while."
There is one suspicious Reeves Tweet that has appeared in CoF.
Touch wood, touch wood...
Now that an official Cure 40th anniversary calendar has been sold through their official shop, I can imagine them doing a few special "events" to commemorate this anniversary (maybe a concert feat. former members or something like that)!
Their first single was released in late 1978, wasn't it? So maybe we can look forward to autumn 2018...

In 2008 Bob said:
QuoteSo I don't have these dreams of continuing on for another, like, ten years. I would be actually quite horrified if we were sitting in this room in ten years' time
http://curefans.com/index.php?topic=5870.0
But we're virtually 2018 (he wrote this TEN years ago!) and it seems to me the band will do something. Although little, the fact they release a 2018 calendar to celebrate the band's 40th anniversary... I am pretty sure they WILL do something.
A tour  popcorn
I just hope The Cure don't announce that it's all over at the 40th anniversary show. I hope they officially announce a new album.
4:14 Scream would be great if released this year, that way Robert wouldn't feel strange about releasing an album by a lineup that no longer exists. It would just be a celebratory anniversary release.
I also am dying to see the release of the Reflections concerts. I really hope they include all the B-sides. Splintered In Her Head was an amazing highlight

I must admit, I don't believe any of this will happen. :(

This, I hope,

**For The Cure to tour Australia**
..though given they were last here in mid-2016 I feel this is unlikely :(

This is also my biggest fear! My hope for 2018 is an European Tour including Italy...I don't think that's too much to ask! Just another chance to see them live :)

Make that your wish for 2019! Sorry to disappoint you, but it has been said already that Hyde Park will be "the only European show" this year...
