Well there are polls for all the albums so why not the singles that arent on any album! (besides compilations of course)
Charlotte Sometimes! One of my all-time favourite songs ever! There's not much to say about it other than its a dreamy masterpiece! :smth020
Never Enough!! What can I say? I LOVE it when they rock out!!
Charlotte Sometimes has always been an old favorite of mine.
Charlotte.
Yes, Charlotte somethimes!
No doubt about it -- Charlotte Sometimes is one of the most beautiful songs ever!
can't vote because the best stand-alone single ever = 'jumping someone else's train' isn't included in the poll options!
I thought about Charlotte Sometimes which is very good song with my fav lyrics and about second song Cut Here. Definitely I voted for Cut Here, cause it's excellent song. Has wonderful music, lyrics and Robert's voice too :smth035 And I love acoustic version from Acoustic Hits 2001 :P

indeed it was a single. thanks for updating the poll.;)
i remember buying my old slightly worn 7" from a second-hand record store in berlin, neukölln, how i was very happy to find it at that time.
always really liked the artwork on this one too:

for me, one of the all-time very special cure songs. and a great b-side too ('i'm cold')! i'd even be tempted to say this is one of the best ever cure singles, both a and b-side considered.
one of the best things lately for me has been the fact that they started playing it again - althought they do play it too sloooow these days... i like the old, faster version or the slower version if it's an acoustic version (like on 1997 NY, irving plaza)...
anyway, an easy choice for me! :D
(ps. i know you'll all vote for 'charlotte sometimes', like every faithful cure fan should do - but i don't care! :-D)
I've voted for Cut here, but i like e.g. also charlotte sometimes, killing an arab, never enough very much :)

Although A Forest is my fave track, JSET is the single that does it for me too.
I like Cut Here very very much.
I never really found Charlotte Sometimes to be such an exceptional track. (The studio track, the live ones are a totally different story)
For me it was a tough choice between Cut Here and Wrong Number, I only chose Wrong Number because I dont think anyone else will actually vote for it. And now i wanna vote for JSET :?

What do you mean...? Should I go "baah baah" like a sheep while I vote? I voted it because I love it! :smth045 :smth019 ( ;))
I decided to vote for Charlotte... Not because I'm a "faithful fan" but because I just do love the song! ;)

there is actually a name for this condition: it's called "being brainwashed"... (;))
Purple Haze (although it isn't really a single). I used to have the CDS and 12" of this one and love it!
For me Charlotte is OK but a bit dull and I don't really enjoy it live..... :?
Voted Charlotte since I could only choose one. That one and Killing an Arab are both on my top 5-10 Cure songs list. To be honest perhaps Boys don´t cry and Lovecats could also be on that top 10 list, but lower than the two first.
I voted "Charlotte Sometimes", but also "Cut Here" is good! :smth020

Oh no robiola...this is just "good taste"!!! ;)
Killing an Arab!
Odd list to choose from... as a standalone single, "Boy's Don't Cry" wins hands down. My favorite on this list is probably "Jumping Someone Else's Train" but BDC has a classic melody, great chord progression and just breaks the pop barrier to pieces. Along with "Just Like Heaven" (which is THE most recognizable and important of Cure singles) "Boys Don't Cry" is the purest piece of pop songwriting that Smith has ever released.
I called you after midnight
Then run until my heart burst
I passed the howling woman
And stood outside your door
A Walk! Stunning..For me, its the best single ever..plus with some sentimental value there for me. 8)
The Lovecats for me
I guess we all knew the final winner before we actually vote. Charlotte is the favorite song for so many fans and also if for me there's something even better in the complete works, i will be at least the best alone standing single.
well...cut here for second. :)
Charlotte wins for me. I love the signing. It would make a great and haunting A capella song. Sends chills down my back every single time.
Ouh that is a hard one...
Which to choose? Between 'KAA' - 'BDC' - Charlotte or even The Lovecats ..?Well i finally prefer not to answer, love them all anyway!
:)
Between The Walk and Charlotte Sometimes....(scratches head, tosses coin)The Walk, just
Charlotte Sometimes for me, although that said, I do prefer the B-side Splintered In Her Head, it's just so much more menacing and nods at the material on Pornography. However, that just makes it a great single because the two sides are so different in style and mood, which I know is something Robert Smith likes to try and do with the singles.
Charlotte Sometimes - re-kindled on the 4Tour!
I´d say A Forest. How could You not include that single?
Charlotte Sometimes, as I have said before, is one of the top definitive Cure songs for me.
Also, I chose "Let's Go To Bed" because it's a great tune and it's B-side is a worthy companion.

i suppose just because it's included on 'seventeen seconds'. the poll name "stand alone singles" meant single releases which aren't included as standard album tracks.
I couldn't help voting for The Walk. It's a brilliant pop-piece! :smth020 :smth023
My favorite song to dance to! (I was tempted to give my voice to Charlotte Sometimes though - it's a real masterpiece, but I know that almost everyone would vote for it, so I decided to support the outsider) =)

Oh yes of course. I didn´t respond on that statement. Guess my english kinda sucks when it comes to everyday expressions.
Ok, then my vote went down the alley of "Let´s Go to Bed". Mainly, sorry to say, for the b-side.

Yes...Only lately have I come to appreciate the genius of this song. Its crept into my Cure top 10 and I used to not like it very much. Great surreal lyrics and an amazine melody.
I choose Charlotte Sometimes, for sure!
I voted for Charlotte Sometimes. I really love listening to it, and it made me read the book (which is also really good and can see why he based a song around it)
Charlotte Sometimes is my choice too. In my opinion is one of the top Cure songs ever
