The rare item is the cd that Siouxsie and Steven Severin both conceived: it is a selection of film scores titled "It's a wonderful life" (a journey into sound). Great selection and liner notes. Siouxsie also gave a long interview and there is a long article about the band.

it is available online on roughtrade.com:

"Through The Looking Glass" (1987), "Peepshow" (1988), "Superstition" (1991) and "The Rapture" (1995) are reissued with bonus tracks.

"Through The Looking Glass" is their cover album like Bowie's "Pin Ups".

"Peepshow" is an album with a rich palette of sounds. It had a five star review in Q magazine and was also praised in Spin.

"Superstition" is their poppiest album with their classic single "Kiss them for me" and the moving ballad "The Ghost in You". It featured Talvin Singh on percussion (who would later be Bjork's musical director on "Debut")

"The Rapture" is their last album that captured the band almost live. It was co-produced by John Cale. It includes a great swansong "Forever".

I find it very odd that a band that featured Robert Smith, not once, but twice, gets so little mention among the forumers in this site. :(

That's a pity. The Cure and The Banshees have so much in common.

They're two clearly different bands, but both with a very strong image and music.

You're going to hear from the Banshees (and the Creatures) from me, certainly.

Btw, I take it there's a Glove thread at the very least? Sorry if you find the question a bit silly, but I'm just a newbie, and I haven't had the time to fully explore the forum.

Several, I think. You can always use the "search" function at the top right.

Looking forward to any posts about Banshees/Creatures/Glove!  :smth023
