How would you like a full album with Robert singing differently that he usually does?
Do you think he'd consider that?
Do you think that if he did, the music would have to radically change in style as well?
No. I like his voice just the way it is :)

No. What makes the songs mentioned above "special" is the different way of singing.
However, the fans are used to his "usual" voice, Robert says he enjoys singing - we should be glad he still does! In my opinion a new album (whenever that'll come) should include his "typical" voice (maybe he'll do it a bit different for one song...), otherwise it'd be a letdown for the fans.

If the songs were good,
I wouldn't care too much about the singing. But when listening to live recordings of recent years, Robert sang in his "typical" voice, I can't see him changing this for a whole album (why should he anyway?)... :?
In my humble opinion, most fans would be disappointed
not to hear Robert's usual vocals on a new album (especially as it's been 8 years since the last one). After all, Robert is the only Cure member to feature on
all albums from 1979 to now! His voice is one of the main ingredients of the Cure sound (maybe Simon's bass comes close).
Also I must admit that Harold & Joe, Club America etc. aren't exactly my favourite songs. :oops:
His natural tone of voice is very beautiful, the latter is totally recognizable and very expressive, deep. He does not need to change his way of singing now.
He had done it before to certainly break the habits and approach something new and different. It does not bother me more than that because it also shows us that he is capable of doing something else. That he is a complete artist and that he can surprise us. Afterwards, we appreciate or not...
