what instruments do you play?

For me I am learning to play guitar I just started in april.

Sing (really well), guitar (intermediate), keyboard (passable), bass (I am shit at it)... trying to learn cello

Guitar ( a little ) just for me

People say I'm really good at guitar, but I hardly play anymore. It just really doesn't interest me that much anymore. Some people think that's weird, and maybe it is. I can't really explain it. :?

Just know the basics of bass and keys. And I refuse to sing! :-D

I played bass when I was teenager (Simon inspired me) but unfortunately I didn't have much time for it...I also play few guitarr and flaute :rocker

I play keyboards in a band  and guitar just for me...

i play some guitars, synths, pianos, drums and record. well i used to record a lot, but it's been already a year since inspiration left me. or i've listened to too many original bands and been too critical to my own ideas.
maybe i'll post some of my stuff later!

I know a great meetingpoint for bassplayers, unfortunatly in german language....but maybe it is interisting for someone.  :wink:

i play a little of everything.  after putting down the guitar for a while i'm picking it back up.  singing isn't really my thing, but i'll do it just for home recording stuff.  i recently recorded a stripped down version of "the big hand" using acoustic guitar, mandolin, and my voice.  kinda rough, but it was fun.

I used to play drums, I still really love to play it but I'm crap at it hehe. Since 2 years I play bass (I wanted to learn how to play fascination street 8) ) and I love it, bass is best! I'm not that good, try to teach myself and I'll hope that'll turn out fine  :roll:

Nice to hear that from you, japanesebaby, as many "serious" musicians don't have any esteem for The Cure and other similar groups.
I practice classical guitar during the week and on weekends I go with my friends and play some Cure!

I've tried to learn guitar by myself, played a few but went back to bass…

I can play drums pretty well, although I have never taken lessons. I bought a $300.00 drumset at a yard sale and it's in storage now due to our small house not being able to occupy it at the moment.

I also play synth, or I'd like to call it that...I have an electric piano that I frequently fiddle around with and come up with a few good tunes now and then. Hoping to get a MOOG synth or a CASIO for a better 80s sound.

Play guitar by ear, never wanted to read music- seems foreign to me,

I play bass primarily, self-taught, although I am learning a bit of theory and trying to inject reason in to my self-taught instinct + patterns, etc.

I can also play rhythm guitar if need be (I'm clumsy when it comes to guitars, so power chords / simple chords only), and keys, in a really really ghetto way that works.

Oh...on the subject of notes...in band class, I pretended as if I were reading the drum notes, but I actually was just improvising. Funny, because the band teacher thought I was the best out of all the percussion section!  :eek:

I'm self taught in both of the instruments I play. Can read music. But,also, go by ear.

I used to play the violin.

I think Hendrix played by ear, And i didnt know that, but i just like to do thinks my way, and learn all by myself,
and hopefully come up with something different. :smth020
Its just so easy for me to repeat what i hear, rather than analyse it, The way i think about alot of things really= Just do it,
rather than pull it apart, think about it, and put it back together,
I would rather just do it, In the first place, keep it as pure as possible.   But thats my way of thinking.

I dont have a guitar at the moment, my last ex broke it, and my heart ~ I loved that guitar !!  I get a new one soon :)
