It's true - Robert Smith does actually look like a bank robber with short hair!  And sort of teddy-bearish with long hair.  As has been remarked, we're all just three meals and a haircut away from savagery!  ;)

Very effervescent and has been getting listens from me:

Oh God, The Only One... you know my sentiments on that one 🤮

Interesting I read this discussion on Twitter about this song...
Twitter -
Seems this song can polarise opinion in other online spaces too

Did you hear that idea somewhere? Hmm, not sure.
My view...lovely in any shape or form 💕 ...but just don't sing The Only One or my vomit may make things less so 😂

Robert Smith said that himself in one of those interviews - I'm paraphrasing - something about looking like a thug or about to rob a bank with short hair - if I find it again I'll post it for you but we were very amused.   And we both think it's true.

Still vomiting over The Only One:angel

I think it's so hilarious that people get offended by things they do themselves - or want to!

No profanities, no colloquialisms, no toxic masculinity, just descriptions of pretty vanilla sexual repertoire, presumably in a married context, and with a sense of gratitude and celebration.  Not like The Lemon Song or, did you ever hear that one on Triple J many moons ago, on constant repeat, called Too Drunk To F***?  It was actually called that... Those are two examples of what makes me vomit... 🤮  ...and stuff like Phil Collins' One More Night.  🤮🤮🤮  ,,,that's so bad I need electrolytes to recover from the profuse vomiting it induces... 🤮

(I stole your vomit emoji again!  :winking_tongue)

The sound is as dated as it gets but the song is too good

'Is It Always Like This?'

While it "shares certain similarities" with Joy Division, it also "shares certain similarities" with the Twin Peaks soundtrack; and only a blinkered Madchester fan would say it doesn't hold its own.

This one again:

I really like this one - another one where the band is playing like a chamber orchestra.  The instrumental section in the middle is so gorgeous and the feelings conveyed by those rising and falling notes are just indescribable.  Music really is so much more eloquent than words, when it's done like this...
