Hoping someone uploads the Werchter and Glastonbury shows onto YouTube.🙏🏼
So far I haven't been able to see either.

Or if anyone has a download of those or any recent European streams I'd be very thankful if download links are shared :)

I found one from Werchter, but not an "offical" webcast or something, someone filming from close to stage... (see Werchter topic for link).

I commented on the Werchter upload ...pretty terrible view!
And I'm realising the person who shot this was front row!
I usually try get close up front but if these are the sizes of European Stages (So high!!) perhaps it's better to stand back?  Can anyone give any thoughts ...where's the best view at a European festival? I've never attended one yet, so Oslo and Gothenburg will be my first experience of it.
Oslo looks to be on a hill, so maybe standing back (on the hill) could be the way to go.  Plus it would mean a bonus that instead of staking-out a spot up front I could check out IDLES on another stage before The Cure start (the only other band at that festival that I'd be interested to see play).

It's not the same stage size/height, all those festivals are different from each other. Your best bet is to check pictures from the same one from last year to get an idea of the stage/set-up.

It also depends on your body size and how considerate the others are. Small always forward as possible. But if you want to improve your listening experience, more distance is an advantage. 👍🏻

I just saw someone at the Werchter show with a sign that said
"You have no idea what music I endured for you today!"

...haha I've been thinking something similar.  Was looking at the timetable released for the Oslo show, wondering how I'll stay at the main stage before The Cure take the stage ..it may be something tough to endure. So much pop!! ..Or should I say poop? 💩

Perhaps a heavier setlist can help balance things out 😉

Which is one of the reasons, why I was hesitant about visiting one of those festivals this year...

I suppose it could be an interesting experience though (if the music doesn't drive me mad) ...like being a sociologist, curious to see how others view the world.

I find the musician-audience dynamic really interesting, and by not being invested in what I'm hearing perhaps it will allow to view it from a different perspective.

...maybe that would make it more tolerable anyway, until The Cure arrive :)

I think The Cure in Oslo and Gothenburg will be an unforgettable experience for you. Can not wait for your reports. 😄

By the way, congratulations for 200 posts!

The most bizarre thing I've read today:
flexipop.com -RS week

Umm...hopefully no folk inclined towards an Eating Disorder will read the suggestions RS gave on the Wednesday: Drink coffee and tea to help starve yourself ..."It becomes quite easy after a while because your stomach closes up so you don't want any food". Wtf! 😂

Rule of thumb: avoid big festival such as Glastonbury, Werchter, etc. and go to 'small' festivals or festivals in non-western European countries. I saw The Cure in Serbia some days ago, the stage was smaller than Malahide and arriving just one hour before was enough to get a first row spot. By the way, a Swedish friend didn't give me good feedback about that Gothenburg festival, hope things will be better this year.
