Hi everyone. My wife is cure mad, we're looking at travelling over to Athens for ejekt from Australia. Just wondering if you would make the jump and book now (looking at vip in a hope we can see them actually playing lol) or would you hold off to see where else gets announced? Thoughts?
Welcome to the forum!

Hm, that really depends on various things: do you prefer Greece over any other European countries? Can you get cheap flights only now or later on as well?
If these two things are not the "problem" so much, I would suggest to wait, as Robert Smith announced via twitter:

WE WILL BE HEADLINING AROUND 20 FESTIVALS NEXT SUMMER - MOSTLY IN EUROPE

From a logistic point view, considering you are coming all the way from Australia, I would wait to see what other shows will be announced before deciding something. I am pretty sure most, if not all of them, will be announced this year.
Regarding this show in particular, there are many reasons to go: Greece is a Mediterranean country, so good food is guaranteed :) The ticket prices are reasonable (just 50 EUR compared to nearly 280 EUR for Glastonbury or other big festivals) and the band did not play there in 14 years...so maybe it will be more special. So this is a must-go show IMO and I already purchased my tickets :P

:rofl :rofl :heart-eyes
The concert venue is next to the sea, in one of the most beautiful suburbs of Athens (Faliro).

'Plateia Nerou", is "Water Plaza" on this map. It's a place that is structured with simplicity and order and also it's comfortable.
Here the Google Earth photo. It's where is the tag "Ejekt Festival", almost to the center of the photo. The entrance is SW, from the sea side. Stage is exactly against, to the other side.
(you can move the photo left-right, by the horizontal ruler to the end of this post)

For even more, watch this video. Shows exactly what you want to know, even is a video for 2015 Festival.
The night of July will be warm, bright and melodic.
Unfortunately, only two categories of tickets left. Arena 55€ and VIP 150€, after only one week.

Unfortunately, I do not live in Athens to know. But I know that Monastiraki and Plaka under and around the Acropolis, it is wonderful and it looks like an island. Many beautiful places for both, drinks before and food after the concert.
Entrance is not allowed to children aged 0-3 years.
4-6 years of age are free of charge with a parent's declaration that they are responsible for the child's health.
From 7 and above they pay a regular ticket.
Thank you Iliast!
Hi, has anyone else got this email?,

looking forward, this will be my first time in Greece! :)
Gonna be amazing my wife and I are coming from Australia for the concert
Timetable attached. The Cure plays 22:20, Michael Kiwanuka 20:35 (highly recommended!), Ride 19:15 and doors open 16:00. I should be at the venue around 18:30. Highest temperature on Wednesday is expected at 28 degrees which is pretty reasonable. Anyone up for pre-drinks before the gig? I have very high expectations on this show considering this is the first Cure gig in Greece since 2005!
That could be fun
Pre drinks, oh hell yes.
Oh and really excited to see Michael Kiwanuka- been banging his album for half a year so this is a pleasant surprise!

I second that! I discovered him through the series 'Big Little Lies' as his song 'Cold Little heart'-one of the nicest songs both lyrically and musicaly I ever heard in the last years- is played in the series intro:
So he, Ride and The Cure should make this a very memorable day :)
And of course, I am very much looking forward to see Ride opening with 'Lannoy Point', such an awesome song!

@iliast @MyWifeNeedsACure if you are in Athens on Thursday maybe we can meet for a Cure lunch or dinner. Let me know by PM.
We just crossed Roger in the street in Athens, he was wearing a cap and sunglasses trying to not be recognized :) But
@disintegration recognized him :) When he was approached and was asked "Roger?" he denied to be him, but 100% it was him (I can also confirm). Not the first time he refuses contact with fans, so you are warned!

Geez what an awful way for him to respond. He strikes me as a bit of an ass I gotta say.
Tell us about the concert. A few words. Some impressions.

I will post a review in these days. Back from Athens I have been swimming in work, but I will find the time... But as mentioned on Twitter, it was a memorable gig: Euphoric audience, Robert wearing an earring in his left ear, Simon looking like Kiss's Paul Stanley at first (then changed to his 1993 look), great sound, great venue by the sea and great music as usual. A very happy day! I think this video is a good summary of that day:
