Well, I think it is about time to give up on my M-Audio Microtrack.  In order to either record a 3 hour show at 16/44.1 or anything in 24 bit, I need to stash an outside battery pack for the MT.  Add that to the iRiver, 2 sets of mics, plus 2 battery boxes, and I look like I have a 6 foot python inside my pants!

Anyway, I think I am finally going to sell the MT and move on to the Edirol before the US dates.  I'm thinking that Brian and Caley will be good sources for this, but can anyone suggest a good place online to get one?  Sorry, but with my insane work/travel schedule right now, I really don't have time to investigate on my own.

I got both of mine on eBay, and bought another one for a friend. The prices there can't be beat. Just shop around and make sure they are actually new and sealed.

Here are the best deals I could find now, although I haven't dealt with either of these sellers before:

If you'd rather buy from an actual store, this is a great deal. Shipping is free, too:

http://www.bpmmusic.com/ says they will beat anyone's price and offer free shipping within the U.S.  They don't advertise their price, so you have to register, e-mail them with the item you want, and they'll reply back with the current special.  If it's higher than one of those ebay sellers, let bpm know.  they might cut you a deal and still offer free shipping.  I recently went through these guys and can vouch for a smooth transaction and quick delivery.

you surely have a nice price range there in the US. and i do mean nice.
the retail price around here is about 390 euros (appr. $570 ). with some luck, you can find one with 350 euros but i've never seen anything under 200 euros.
and if you try saving money by ordering from the states, the customs make sure they tax you to death so...

...sure, if you also want to take risks like getting your stuff permanently confiscated by customs. the customs don't have to give anything to you if they have any reason to doubt thatthere was something funny in there. and then you'd have no option but to go to buy the same stuff again. cool. :?

and maybe it sound like a small detail but one thing i've learned to appreciate is to have tech support somewhere NEAR you and not somewhere on the other side of the world, in case you might urgently happen to need some.

Just a random detail, but Roland/Edirol's tech support is still local here, and those guys actually know what they're talking about â€" both of which are rare this day in age. :?
