I've recently found this YouTube account that has HEAPS of good quality audio of The Cure concerts (sounds best via headphones for me, and has been my walking music all week). Today I've been listening to the 3rd Disintegration show in Sydney 2019 :)
"Where the flesh meets the spirit world,
Where the traffic is thin..."

I'm finding it impossible to listen to this too much (that point, if it exists, is entirely theoretical):

...and am recommending and sharing it far and wide to anyone who only has casual radio acquaintance with this band.  OMG what I missed out on when that was me.

Indeed.  Put a thought bubble above Mr Gallup's head and fill it in for fun.  Extra points for outrageousness.

"Gawd I hate this drumming, I can't stand it anymore!"

"This is such a shit bass, I need a new one!"

"Why did I join this fvcking band? Could've had a PhD by now!"

"To think I turned down a spot to learn drystone walling to play with these clowns - and could have left a worthy monument to my existence for hundreds and hundreds of years after my demise..."

"I hate these long bloody encores.  Could've been at t'pub half an hour ago!"

...etc etc...your turn!

@MeltingMan, on one of the recent concert recordings - I'm fairly sure it's the Hyde Park one - Roger O'Donnell chucks his tambourine on the floor at the end of a song.  We've always "thought bubbled" that one with, "I didn't join The Cure to play the effing tambourine!"

No idea. I was just surprised when Lol threw the drumsticks over his shoulder. 😄

Bwahaha!  :)

...I can't see your song, @MeltingMan!  Maybe a region thing... what was it?

Me...

Possibly. I can't watch certain of your content either (in other threads, no April Fool's joke). 🤔

Do you have a carpet beater, @MeltingMan?  ...then you could give yourself ten of the best on your posterior for being off-topic.   :winking_tongue

And I still don't know what Cure song you were listening to, and had you told me, you would not have been off-topic!  :beaming-face  :angel

And since I don't have a carpet beater, I'm now going to have to listen to a Cure song (oh the imposition  :kissing_closed_eyes:), so that I don't go off-topic...

... :1f629: I couldn't use the official YT track because for some reason that song is blocked in my country... (too many politicians thinking it sounds too close to home at the moment??? )

...ah, @MeltingMan, I see you have now rectified the situation!   :cool

Which means the carpet beater won't be necessary.   :angel

Nice choice and logically I'm thinking of this one next...

Happy Easter to you!  🐰

You people - well, meaning @MeltingMan and @Ulrich - are so aware of the phases of the moon that I want to play you an astronomical Cure song but not Underneath The Stars or Jupiter Crash...but right now I can't think of any.  Perhaps you can help... as both of you don't still have significant listening gaps in the catalogue...

And Ulrich, I swear you are "choreographing" your music for specific occasions - just look at your last choice!  :)

I'm listening to various things by various people including The Cure today as I make my way through various chores. Here's one that I'll pick out for being musically very beautiful:

Yes, it was an obvious choice for a day like that. (Doesn't mean I always pre-plan, often it's more spontaneous.)

If you got half an hour, you can listen to this soundtrack:
The holy city breathed like a dying man...

SueC

...I can really relate to that today.   :1f62a:

And then it's better to have a song like that, than not to.

It's been some week, and sometimes you bottom out even though you swim swim swim with all you've got most of the time.  I think we've all been there.

PS:  Thanks @Ulrich, that soundtrack stuff is really good music to journal to.  No lyrics to distract me and just the right mood.
