i was reading the "you know you are a cure fan when..." thread the other day.
one thing about being a cure fan seems to be that you often see the cure in things/places/situations which aren't actually cure related at all: sometimes you spot things like this, you might even say "hey look at that! ;)" to somebody (who is not a cure fan) but or course they just go "so... what??" (and then you can think: "hey that's a name of a cure song too!" :P).
anyway, your own crooked curefan's mind refuses to see it normally, you see it "cure-ishly". ;) and it takes another curefan to get it.
here're some instances:

there used to be this placed called "The Dream" years ago near where I lived. Took a picture of it then, not sure where the picture is now, and the place isn't there anymore.
Also there's this Asian/Pacific Islander market that uses the same font as the Why Can't I Be You? single font. I can take a picture of that sometime.

i don't know where the name originated. i doubt it would be cure related as these studios are famous among metal/progeressive metal bands, opeth & co.
i was surprised to see deep insight and disco ensemble on their list of clients though as they are finnish emo bands, certainly not metal.

i've also heard about a group here in finland (maybe they are elsewhere too, i don't know) who are into caravan spotting. in addition to a license plate, every caravan has a sort of registering number. the smaller the number, the older the caravan is. i heard that if you spot a caravan with a number less than 10 then you're really something and every fellow caravan-spotter will go like 2wowwww!!"

i found this a bit funny. that's a guitarist from an austrian band called l'âme immortelle. the oddest thing was that he was even copying some of robert's moves, especially the swaggering moves that robert does during 'lullaby'.

I took a picture from this too, but I saw it in the city, on the boat and in the airport, so I thought this isn't very special anymore  and before I deceided to put it here, I took a look at the pictures from the past to see if you ever took a picture ;) Anyway here's mine from the boat to Tallinn :-D
I need to take one more photo of Robert's Coffee near my house :smth023
Nice cafe though.
While I was reading a Bones graphic novel(Crown of Thorns by Jeff Smith) for my Writers Craft course, one of the characters said "its just like a dream" and it reminded me of the Just likeHeaven song :D
Last night I was watching Jon Oliver stand up show and one of the comedians mensioned the Cure. She said she was dating a mime, but she did not know it at first. She said she just thought he was pale, quiet, and one of those people who liked the Cure and who are missunderstood...
The skin treatment to use for the real fan...

Bummer. Clearing way for a new development? Sometimes I wish new construction would go and down up instead of out.

no, no development plans this time. this place is quite far from everything like that, very few people even live in the area.
it's just people turning forests to money, clearing out the trees and leaving a complete war zone behind, it looks like the area was bombed or something :( - it'll take more than a lifetime for the forest to renew itself.
the finnish word for forestry is "forest care" - some damn care.

the spider web was built to block an opening in a garden fence and to stop people taking a shortcut through someone's backyard/garden.
a nice idea.

in the movie reign of fire (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0253556/), the sky-diving "archangels" have a life expectancy of 17 seconds:
-Excuse me. Who are they?
-Archangels.
-Huh?
-17 seconds... once they jump from the chopper, that's their life expectancy.
-You never thought of giving them parachutes?
-They're not much help.

I found some Curespotting :D
1 on Christmas @ Home
2 on New-Years Eve @ Moscow
Well this is more of a Robert Smith spotting but I think it still counts.
1. There is a building just down the street from where I live that has a sign saying "RS Homes" Sorry I couldnt get a picture:(
2. I was watching a short clip of a sketch from "The Mighty Boosh" online (Im just discovering this wacky show) anyway at one point during the skit they mention Robert Smith and his tears. It is quite funny. 1:57-2:01 is when he is referenced:) :smth042

The movie "Career Girls" is basically "The Cure: The Movie"
There's like, a tacky amount of Cure in this movie. For no reason. I have no idea why.
In the clip I posted, they have a poster for The 13th single up on some wall and they show it. Strange.
Oh yeah, and you'll get a kick out of the soundtrack
