Just checking the european festival's for this summer. Line up in the Benicassim festival (specially) and the Werchter Festival is depressing IMO.

Roskilde has Pavement, but is not enough

In the other hand there's this indie/experimental festival in Poland, the "Off festival" I went last year. Line up (which is not complete) seems more interesting than all the festival above, not to mention the price ticket is very cheap in comparison:

true, the festival line-ups seem to be rather boring this summer. i've yet to find one that would have more than one or two bands worth to pay for.
oh well, at least that'll save some money if nothing else.

Unless some terrible event happen, I'm definitely going to the Off festival in Katowice, Poland. Lali Puna, The Fall and The Flaming Lips just confirmed their presence.

If anyone would like to attend please send me a private message. There's time ahead but would be nice to know who would like to join.

two similar topics merged.

of all the bigger festivals, werchter doesn't look too bad:

although i've really no personal interest to attend such huge events anymore. but if i lived somewhere nearby i might consider that one.

btw the WGT festival in leipzig is always worth considering - a city festival with arena/club shows beats standing in the rain/mud all day anytime.
imo the line-up just looks pretty uninteresting so far this year:

I was just logging in to post about Werchter.  Looks to be a solid lineup, though the middle dates are kind of blah for main acts.  A Muse and Pearl Jam sandwich without much in the way of fixings.  Editors and Rise Against are good, though.  That's a festival I'd go to if I lived near there.

I got into the final round for a free trip to Bamboozle New Jersey: http://party.thebamboozle.com/profile/TheBamboozleNewJersey  Hmmm, not sure I'd even go to the festival if i wind.  Might just spend the time sightseeing instead.  :P

Day 2 of Coachella looks pretty nice.  Muse, Faith No More, Tiesto, The Dead Weather, Coheed and Cambria, Devo, The xx, Mew, Frightened Rabbit, Porcupine Tree, Temper Trap.  I considered going, but didn't feel like spending the money to get there and back for just one day.  Three Muse gigs in a few weeks, Tiesto the following week, Temper Trap on Monday, and having recently seen PT and Frightenend Rabbit will have to do.

Our big festival in Washington looks really weak.  Some really uninteresting headliners that I would consider main stage support at some bigger festivals like Lollapalooza or Coachella.

And speaking of Lollapalloza, rumors are the headliners will be Green Day, Soundgarden, and Gaga.  What a combination.

btw, I really prefer the arena, club-type atmosphere these city center festivals have, too.  Seattle has a long running music and arts festival called Bumbershoot which takes place in the city center over labor day weekend.  I'm actually hoping for a week lineup this year so I don't spend extra money the week prior to my London/Iceland trip.

Well, this year will be for me Heineken Jammin in Milan, Rock in Roma (because of The Cure) and OFF Festival in Katowice, Poland! It will be my fourth OFF Festival :)

If anyone wants to join, let me know! There will be Swans, Spectrum, The House Of Love and Mazzy Star. Best independent music Festival in central Europe if you ask me!
