how to convert Divx and mpeg files on DVD???

you can use "neroVision express 3" but i prefer "tmpgenc xpress 3.0" (the results are much better!).

For one, these files must be converted to MPEG-2 format to make a DVD. Some DVD creation programs will do this for you, but I prefer to do it manually with other programs.

Most files you download off the net, even MPEG's, won't be in this format. It's usually reserved for video capture and applications like that.

As Cult Hero mentioned, I like TMPGEnc Xpress. I'll also use CinemaCraft Encoder SP for coverting raw AVI's that I capture myself, and I use AVS Video Coverter for things that the other two cannot convert.

Feel free to ask if you have any more questions. Cult Hero and I are both enthusiasts on this sort of thing.

The simpliest way is to use Nero.
You can also try WinAVI Video Converter - many options there.
