Scooter Frontman H.P. Baxxter metiones The Cure by saying:

which means

"At the age of 18, 19 I proceed a bit more to what was called "Wave"-Music, listening to The Cure, Soft Cell."

Well, unexpected but doesn't make the band any sympathetic to my mind.
