Listening 'Show' on the radio. The Cure at their peak. What a sound, what an energy, and what a drummer!

So imaginative, colourful and expressive!

The Cure performs "Shake Dog Shake" at the 2019 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony at Barclays Center on March 29, 2019 in Brooklyn, New York City.

The way she pulls me in sucks my breath away

This song means a lot to me. Note the sunrise when Robert plays his solo.

les pires ferments de destruction ont apparu. (J. Péladan)

Finally! The kick drum sounds good, by the way.

One of those mid-80s quirky and mischievous pop numbers

This beautiful song defines "wistful"...

Also, a good example of a song that doesn't really work live. So much of the charm depends on how Robert's voice disappears deeper and deeper into the mix, an effect no one's going to begin trying to recreate live.

In general, Robert's voice is, more often than not, not in the very foreground of Cure songs, from In Your House to Close to Me, from A Short Term Effect to Out Of This World, from The Drowning Man to Lullaby etc ad infinitum. One example to the contrary that highlights this is the atrociously produced self-titled album, where several great songs were ruined by the nu metal simpleton.

And another reason why I'm not a big fan of live shows, though admittedly I've had heard some really superb live renditions by the lineup most consider the classic one, not least the Unplugged show.
