Btw, Mogwai's version of Endsong is both unmistakably a Mogwai song and a way to flesh out elements of The Cure's original which I didn't know were there. Today I listened to Mogwai's rework first, then to the original, and I have to say Mogwai helped me understand something more about the song. I can't really quite explain what, but I'm grateful for their escavating things there were hidden there somewhere. I cried while listening to both, and also realized why RS decided to use so many (and so loud!) guitars. It makes sense.
