QuoteJem Tayle (Shelleyan Orphan) and Boris Williams (The Cure) are embarking on a new project called Vamberator .

Jem Tayle said: "After Caroline Crawley (one half of Shelleyan Orphan ) passed away, I was approached about doing a solo album. I had been writing on and off with no real direction and no one to rely on. Boris is family and we've played with Shelleyan Orphan live and in the studio from time to time... so it felt very natural to work together on this project. I'm very lucky to have a drummer of his calibre pounding out the rhythms on this album."

The first single " Sleep the Giant of Sleeps " is taken from the upcoming album " Age of Loneliness " (Unifaun Productions).

The duo also called upon Charlie Jones (Goldfrapp, The Cult, Robert Plant) on bass.

An interview (in Spanish) can be read here (English translation here). It's possible the band will go on tour, which means the chance to see Boris Williams on stage after long time:

QuoteJT: Forming the band is the next step. We have been offered some shows abroad; in Italy, France, and possibly other places. So we will do that, I hope. But yes, for us putting a band together is the most important thing, and it is not easy, because you have to pay the musicians and we don't have money for that yet. So, it will be a challenge, but we will do it. We will find a way.

Also on when Shelleyan Orphan was invited to play with The Cure in the Prayer Tour:

QuoteIf I'm not mistaken, the first time you played together on stage was in 1989, on the last date of The Cure's "Prayer Tour", when the two bands played the song "Forever" together. What memories do you have of that tour you shared?

JT: For Shelleyan Orphan it was fantastic, it was amazing to be invited on tour, because before that Caroline and I were playing in small venues, maybe for five hundred or sometimes a thousand people, and we used to have the string trio (cello, violin and viola), oboe and piano. The sound was quite delicate, it wasn't a great sound because the instruments were acoustic. So when Robert Smith asked us to play on tour it was like, "Oh God, how are we going to do this in stadiums?" So we had to get a drummer, an electric bassist and suddenly electric guitar. We had to change how we did it, which was a good lesson for me and Caroline. And it was an amazing experience to go from that to suddenly stadiums, with not much in between. And the members of The Cure were very, very nice to us. So it was an amazing experience. Thanks to that Shelleyan Orphan made a lot more fans and we were well received in most countries. We did well, so it was fantastic. And also to witness a band of that caliber every night and see how they work was eye-opening. As a music fan it was fantastic, a dream come true.
