Quote...a rare, intimate concert for BBC Radio 2 on October 30, but it appears that only UK residents can apply for tickets. Held at the BBC Radio Theatre in London, this special performance offers a small, lucky audience the chance to see the band in a uniquely personal setting just ahead of the release of Songs of a Lost World, their first album in 16 years.

For those unable to attend, the concert will be broadcast on Jo Whiley's BBC Radio 2 show from 7-9pm GMT on Halloween, including an exclusive interview with frontman Robert Smith. The band will also perform earlier in the day on Huw Stephens' BBC Radio 6 Music show, airing between 4-7pm GMT, in a 6 Music Session featuring more tracks from their long-awaited album.

Quote from: dsanchez on September 29, 2024, 12:24:05... basically it was the fact that he told about the album way too early ...

Well in a way I understand his regret, but it's okay now we have a release date and all.

Back in 2019, it was quite nice to have "news" and something to dream about...

Ignore the above, from the T&C: "the registration is open to all residents of the UK, including the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man, aged 18 and over"

By the way - the page asks you to enter a UK postcode, but it does not ask you anywhere to be a UK resident to apply for the tickets. Just fill in everything and enter a valid UK postcode (Google it first). If you have a friend in the UK, then ask him/her to use their address.

Note: I don't live in the UK.

Unconfirmed news and rumours / The Cure to play at Werchter 2...
Last post by dsanchez - October 02, 2024, 00:17:47
QuoteThe Cure has been a regular at Rock Werchter since the 80s, with a visit roughly every 5-6 years. The last time was in 2019, so they can't really miss the 50th anniversary of the festival in 2025.

The address of Pinkpop is probably not too far into The Cure's navigation systems either. They were there as headliner in 2012 and at the anniversary edition in 2019. Next year would be a logical continuation of the warm ties between the two.
