It is a terrible place ;P But a lot of concerts are organized there... I was hoping for the concert to take place in Cracow (which also happens to be my city) --> that way I could try to organize an afterparty :D
Lodz is some 260 km from Cracow though, so we can still have a beer in Cracow if you come  :smth023

Thanks. I will be seeing the band in Prague on 22nd of October so I suppose it could be Lodz, then Prague. We will see. And yes, looking at the map Krakow is right in the middle between Bratislava and Lodz! (too bad they didn't play in Krakow. Anyway, why are all the concerts in Katowice, Wroclaw, Lodz if Krakow is nicer?! :)

I watched some of this on YT last year and then we decided to download it from the official link (@nevyn listed it above).  Because we live in a rural area, and the file size was so enormous, we had to get a family member living in Perth to download it for us and send us a thumb drive.  Then, the whole thing had to be unzipped and the separate parts stitched back together, and finally, we had a version we could play on the TV / sound system via the laptop.

We watched the first half of the show last night.  Much of the first hour of the 2016 Lodz set list is similar to the first hour of the Hyde Park set off the recent official concert film.  We were cheering when different songs came on, like Charlotte Sometimes.  But, it's a very good concert, and the only reason that this really struck us is because we've been listening to the Hyde Park CDs a lot lately after watching the DVD!

We primarily downloaded the Lodz project because it was interesting to watch a fan-produced film, which was done entirely from mobile phone footage - and with a decent line to the sound desk apparently, because the sound is really good, unlike the atrocious standard of most fan-recorded stuff that pops up on YT.  It's an impressive job, and must have taken months of painstaking work to edit together.  I really enjoyed what they managed to come up with, and it's nice to have something from that perspective, to complement the official professional productions on our shelf.

The backdrops in this concert are really lovely, as they were in Hyde Park - and they were largely different from what we saw in the Hyde Park concert. The computer graphics people must have had some fun coming up with some of the animations.  The film backdrop to The Last Day Of Summer was really gorgeous here.

Brett was muttering about some of the big lights.  He saw The Cure in the Perth Entertainment Centre around 2002/2003 and said he was sitting right in the path of one of them and it was like being repeatedly interrogated.  Part of the problem is that the seating in the (now demolished) PEC was mostly higher than the stage, so you did get problems with light beams annoying people sitting in certain parts of the venue.

We've still got the second half to go, but I remember Robert Smith doing a little comedy spot on getting old when I originally watched bits of this on YT, and am looking forward to seeing that one again!

If any of you haven't seen this, it's worth a look, either on YT or via the high-quality download.   :smth023
