In 2024 Robert Smith finally turned his mind to finishing one of the albums recorded in 2019. Mixing with Paul Corkett (Bloodflowers and longtime Cure FOH Sound), the songs chosen for the first release were finally completed in August. As an appetiser, a live 12" single Novembre: Live In France 2022, featuring new songs And Nothing Is Forever and I Can Never Say Goodbye was released October 1st to benefit Earthpercent. The Cure once again signed to Fiction Records for the much anticipated November 1st release of Songs Of A Lost World... and then...

'SONGS OF A LOST WORLD' was written and arranged by Robert Smith, produced and mixed by Robert Smith & Paul Corkett and performed by The Cure - Robert Smith: Voice / guitar / 6string bass / keyboard, Simon Gallup: Bass, Jason Cooper: Drums / percussion, Roger O'Donnell: Keyboard, Reeves Gabrels: Guitar. The album was recorded at Rockfield Studios in Wales.

not sure what interview it was, but basically it was the fact that he told about the album way too early and it took him five years to deliver...
