Choose your favourite song for this album!, and write down WHY do you think it's great.

David.
"Three Imaginary Boys" - sounds like it should've been on 17 Seconds, and is better than 80% of that album. The guitar solo is stunning - completely abrasive, but melodically it's classic Robert.
"10:15 Saturday Night" is my favorite. The "Drip, drip, drip...." parts are so catchy.
okey dokey..
this is one of my favourite albums... :rocker
TOP song :
10:15 Saturday night ..... one of the songs that 'lured' me to The Cure!!
next... 3IB of course!!, then have to be Grinding Halt
'10.15 Saturday night' is my favourite from this album... a great song ! :smth023
10 15
ITS NOT YOU
TIB
BEST THREE!
Fire in Cairo.
THe twangy guitar sound's great in this one.
Three Imaginary Boys for me - so melodic and wistful, almost doesn't fit with the rest of the album. Agree that it could've been on 17 Seconds,
but also love
10:15 Saturday Night - a classic,what more can I say?
Grinding Halt - never fails to make me jump around the room like a mad idiot...
It's Not You - love the dirty guitar and the bass line, reminds me of my days as a post punk youngster!
Sorry, I'm finding it impossible to limit myself to just one fave...
Three Imaginary boys for me! ;)
I should say foxy LADY, ahahah!!
No, I choose THREE IMAGINARY BOYS because it makes me fly.... and GRINDING HALT because it's pure energy, especially live..."one two three fouuur!....", it's so cool!!! :rocker
From the original release I'd have to go with Grinding Halt. If we were selecting from the deluxe version my pick would be Play With Me. I really dig that track. :rocker Might be because I've heard the songs that made the album so many times and it's nice to hear something "new". Now, had the the final edit of I'm Cold been included, THAT would easily be my choice as it's one of my favorite songs of all time. Still, I wonder how some songs that were obvious filler made the album while songs that could stand have been a successful single were omitted :?
there are quite a few on the deluxe I would include.. i love ' I want to be old".. it sounds like a sex pistols song.. plus 'I'm Cold'!! LOVE these.. :smth023
Play with me.. oohh yeah.. throw in World War and Faded Smiles.. I listen to this deluxe the most!! :smth020
that's why maybe good reason to re-open polls.. on originally relaeased and re-mastered/deluxe editions?? Too many to choose from..! :rocker

You could always create a new poll to include the deluxe versions ;)
10 15,
first Cure song I´ve ever heard...no doubt, that is may fav.
Three Imaginary Boys is my favourite, i love it so much, its almost haunting and it sticks in my head for days :smth020
Three Imaginary Boys
If we are talking the re-master, then Jumping Someone Else's Train is the biz.
But althought TIB is a super track, I do really like Another Day.
It has a simply dreamy simple guitar riff that just gets me everytime.

i was just about to say the same.
and if live versions over the years were considered too, i could then say 'fire in cairo', i just don't think the album version is nowhere near the level of the live performances.
so, at the moment i guess i can't vote.
It is close between 3IB and 10:15 Saturday Night..
The album that always trigger my feeling. The pioneer of all album. Future proof definitely. 8)
10:15. Three Imaginary Boys. Grinding Halt. Fire In Cairo.
Easily the best 4 tracks on the album. Nothing else is really that good on this release. These tracks stand out and I was lucky enough to see them all played as the final encore set together with 'boys dont cry', jumping someone else's train and 'killing an arab (now sang as killing an other)'.. it was amazing!! must also agree with earlier posts suggesting 3 imaginary boys sounds like it was a preview of things to come and could have easily made it onto seventeen seconds.
Three Imaginary Boys.
A preview of The Cure to come, of my favorite Cure phase.
(from 17 secs to The Top)
Grinding Halt for me, followed by Fire In Cairo and It's Not You - all have the neaded energy and simplicity but still kick you. Was really a surprsied when they played Grinding Halt again on the Swing Tour, would be nice if It's Not You would also find its way back into the set from time to time...
difficult album, though I'd loved the idea of the music business back then to not include singles on the album, the punk thing.
:D there is only one that is satnd out for me.. 10:15.
:rocker
"10:15 Saturday Night". Only the title track comes close... But all in all, this debut is indeed a strong album.
I really love Object! It's my ringtone btw :D
10:15 Saturday Night, followed by TIB, Another Day, Fire in Cairo. Underrated album.
"10:15 Saturday Night"
01 Grinding Halt (strict dirty punk, no future, no people!)
02 Three Imaginary Boys (gloomy guitar)
03 10:15 Saturday Night (catchy lyrics, meaningful silences)
01 Accuracy (the rhythm, the guitar, a cool song)
02 Jumping Someone Else's Train (from the DeLuxe-Edition, great bass line)
03 Object (once again a bit philosophy) ;)
