Title: the new dvd
Post by: lacrima mosa on November 24, 2006, 09:19:08
am i the only one who already got the dvd yesterday and did watch it already?  :-D
i think its nice, i like it!! a good memory of thosa shows, not as perfect as a "real" produced dvd, but thats the point that makes it special in my view! play for today is only filmed from one point, no mtv-cutting!! really special!
i like most of the songs the way they played it, exept the often discussed plainsong played in france... a crap version!

what i like to know is, where are these versions from, i do not recognize all the places they played in 2005 (taormina is easy and plainsong was only plaed once, but the others i'm not sure... can we make a list where the songs have been played?

hope you all enjoy it too! "it's made to listen in the dark and loud!!"

Drowning Man is from Szeged Festival 2005-08-26. They played just once last year.

well, all i can say its that this is the last thing i expected from a cure release, its not just the image itself, its the horrible production, i really hated the first two songs, i only saw the first 4 songs, i´m going to give it a second chance tonight since the first song, maybe i was to tired to watch this the cure experiment, lets see.

As for me, it's a good DVD. Of course, it's not like the "Trylogy" quality, but maybe a sound more... live ???

it's not what i expected, but isn't that the beauty of The Cure??

this weekend, i'm going to chill some beers, get my beanbag, set it up in front of my tv, drink some beers and enjoy the majesty that is the new interpretations of old [and not so old] fave songs.

Very Good !
it sounds so........live........with all its imperfection etc. etc.

i enjoyed it very much apart from those motionless-images-of-the-whole-songs that i don't like at all...

the video isn't as good as Trilogy but i was expecting worse !

the sound is very good, indeed. maybe the bass mixed too loud , but it's full of energy (even though i don't understand why 2 songs seem to be mixed in a very different way)...

well, considering it should cost about 14/15 Euros i can assure: it's definitely a good dvd..very interesting!
