jean grey a.k.a. phoenix doesn't fall that far behind either.
and i think the 'dark phoenix' storyline is definitely the best piece of comics ever made! even if you didn't like the super hero comics, it's worth checking out: great storyline by chris claremont with art by john byrne - classic! :smth023

(forget the movies, they are nothing compared to the original!)

hehe the guys always see it that way only... but the reason why i liked about the x-men series over most all other marvel series was because they had girl superheroes that weren't complete wimps or just sweethearts for the "real" superhero. because those lame girl characters are so numerous... just think about king kong - huh! :? the same with superman, even spider-man - the girls are more or less complete side objects. or they are lame "oh somebody please come rescue me oh i'm in danger oh oh" kind of hopeless crap. so boring!
but in x-men, some of the most powerful superheroes (like phoenix) were girls. it didn't matter if they were guys or girls, they were equally interesting and equally important characters all the same. and the girls often singlehandedly beat the crap out of some guy-superheroes - :smth023

Agree with you marika..Especially if im in your own shows as a girl.. :-D
don't like superhero! 8)
ROBERT SMITH and SIMON GALLUP!
I don't really like superheros...I never got into them as a kid and still haven't.
The only comic that I still read from time to time, when I find a pile of old ones that I don't already have, is Conan. He's actually kind of an anti-hero. He's crude, simple, and "not the brightest bulb in the drawer". There's no bullshit or pretense about him: his guiding principle seems to be the notion that "the shortest distance between two points is a straight line".
If only life could be so simple.
At the risk of sound terribly goff, without a doubt; Batman.
