First of all, welcome to Curefans.com! :smth023
I think before you flirt with some of our beautiful ladies here in curefans.com you maybe want to do an introduction about yourself here (http://www.curefans.com/index.php/topic,646.0.html)
Anyway, good luck in Rotterdam :-D

I've also two sitting tickets which you can buy from me. If you're interested, leave a message.
Looks like this is the first sold-out Cure show of the european leg. Anyone can confirm this?

I guess the first show to sell out was London.
Oslo also sold rather quickly (standing tickets sold out in less than an hour, while seating tickets sold out in 2 days).
Coincidence or not, these are the 3 shows (Oslo, Rotterdam and London) I've got tickets to :D
london is not sold out. Seetickets are still selling tickets, yesterday were standing tickets, todey are seated tickets (and very good ones i guess)

Yeah, I just noticed that, too. But when I checked earlier today both standing and seats said "sold out". I got the same message ("sold out") yesterday and the day before that (and before that and so on). I guess a couple of more tickets has been released/been made available (due to reserved tickets not been collected). The same will probably happen to Rotterdam (new tickets will be released/made available). The same happened to Oslo last saturday: Standing tickets were "sold out" for 4 days, then all of a sudden standing tickets (only few, though) were available again.

Ahoy Rotterdam is definitely sold out. Sure, you can buy tickets by commercial other ticketshops, but you'll have to pay as twice as the normal price.
Ahoy Curefans...kun jij me helpen, alstjeblieft?
I've sent a message to caiostro, in the rare event he still has those 2 seated tickets available...but if not I am seeking 1 or preferably 2 tickets for the Rotterdam date. The scalpers are charging outside of my financial limits so I need to rely on the goodwill of other Curefans.
Didn't find out that I was actually going to the Netherlands until about 2 weeks ago so I'm too late...
So far I have tickets for London and Paris. In addition to the Rotterdam show, I'm also seeking tickets for Antwerp and Oberhausen. I think these are not sold out yet so I may be in luck there :D
Dank je wel....

Thanks - I just got one 8) Not that close, but it is dead center which is cool. :smth023
So I've got London, Paris and Antwerp so far...still need Oberhausen and Rotterdam. Oberhausen isn't sold out either and there are still cheap seats left for that. I will buy those soon.
2008 is looking great! (Also have DC and Boston tickets and will probably do NYC as well) This is really making up for years of lost time when I couldn't go to shows for one reason or another - although I had no excuse for the Swing Tour other than the fact that I was too pissed off over WMS to go.
Hi everyone, i'm new here! :D so let me introduce myself, i'm Tristan, live in Holland and i'm a fan of The Cure. (or else i wouldn't be here ;)) annyway, i'm going to the concert in Rotterdam and i'm going to try to record the concert. so if anyone is interested in this please pm me after the concert ans i will post it in the download section. cheers everyone!!
Howdy.
I found some more Rotterdam-tix on www.tickets4u.nl
I'm just a bite unsure which one to order since my Dutch isn't the best ;)
Are the "Arena-/veldkaart" tickets offered there standing ticket right in front of the stage? If so, 85â,¬ is definitely a price I'm willing to pay for a sold-out concert.
Thanks in advance for your help! :)
Just want to report that I finally got my Rotterdam ticket...so I'm all set for Europe. Buying my plane ticket this weekend!!!!!!!!
Awww, it's bad I can't make it, I'd love to see them playing in my homecountry, ah well, hope they'll do it again soon after this show.
Can't wait to hear from everyone how it was!!!

Just to make me stop thinking "that band is not able to play something else than the same lame stuff each night"

@Japanesebaby: I'm not sure where you got your information, but the crowd wasn't dead AT ALL..... Maybe your friends were in the wrong section in front. I was right in front of Simon, and hell broke loose many times.
Second: When they started the first encore Bob made a joke by asking if we wanted 4 faith songs! What he actually asked was: Do you wanna hear 4 faith song? (The crowd screamed like their lives depended on it!! Or do you wanna hear 6 pop songs?? (Then the crowd boo-d!!) I guess he didn't expect the crowd wanted faith songs, cuz they weren't on the setlist, at that moment! The last encore should have been the 17 seconds encore...... But the skipped it and played FAITH instead!!!!!
By the way: the soundcheck was: signal to noise and plainsong.
I do hope for everbody that goes to Wembley tomorrow, they will play more faith songs now!!

what mic did you use?
don't know if the other recordings will be shared anywhere, sorry.
yeah, i used the very very good mics from the zoom itself. i can send you one number.. i'm working on the whole gig to upload it.
This was the third time I saw The Cure (after Perth 2000 and the Brussels trilogy show in 2002), but only the first time in my home country and even hometown.
I've bought most of their output in the mid/late 90s save for one or two, but I've kind of lost touch with them in recent years. Therefore I hadn't bought a ticket in the pre-sales and actually it was only a couple of days before the gig when I stumbled on some recent setlists that I suddenly felt the urge to be there. Despite of it being sold out it wasn't too much trouble to get a ticket for the standing area for the normal price. Was it nostalgia? Maybe, but whatever it was I'm really glad I went.
When I walked into Ahoy' for the first time in years I was a bit worried if they could still enthrall me like back in the days. On top of that I've pretty much only been to small gigs the last few years where there's usually barely 100 people attending, so I wasn't sure how I'd feel about venues the size of Ahoy' nowadays. I was standing pretty far to the right, 2nd or 3rd row and about 10 meters away from Simon, but with a good view and the sound was pretty good from where I was standing, as opposed to some comments I've heard/read from people complaining they could barely hear Robert's singing. In fact, it struck me how remarkably strong his voice was, maybe better than I've ever heard him during a live show. I really liked the all-guitar-4-piece-lineup too, even though some songs obviously had some sort of backing tape providing the keyboards.
I was very happy with the setlist! The only thing that could have made it better for me was if, when RS announced "we can either do 4 songs from Faith or 6 of our most upbeat happy pop songs", they would actually have gone for the Faith songs... or both.
For a moment I couldn't believe my luck and I thought back of witnessing an encore with All Cats Are Grey and Faith in Perth eight years ago. But alas, Robert claimed something along the lines of being outnumbered by Porl and Simon wanting to go for the pop ones. The 3rd encore with Faith merging into A Forest was more than excellent though... and unexpected.
In short, I doubt I'll be interested in a new album, just like I've never listened to the last one... but the next time they're playing in Holland again, damn right I'll buy a ticket on the first day.
btw, I noticed some kind folks have uploaded Faith and A Forest on youtube.

Really great great concert.
I have been a fan for almost 7 years now, and I tell you this was the best concert I ever went to.
Perfect sound, Robert was in shape, so where Porl Simon and Jason.
1 thing didn't made me happy though.
Great setlist, but no "Play for Today", and I was so in the mood for that song. I would have prefered it over faith, since it's a great stadium song. I even practiced
Has anybody "found" some complete recordings of this show yet? I've been desperately searching for it, since the day after the show.....
Anybody? Aap??
I believe I have seen it on www.dimeadozen.org
I heard that too, but they're like closed for 2 centuries now.... I've been trying to get in for weeks now, without any luck. Do they have invites there? And if so could somebody send me an invite?
Any other places where this gig might show up?
I've got it by now.... Got it from some-one thru slsk.... Not sure if it's Aap's version??
Anyway, I'm pleased with it, and should anybody want it, contact me......
