:rocker Witaj! No to musimy sie jakoś spotkać na koncertach. Pozdrawiam Robert z Wrocławia. W końcu bedzie okazja się poznać osobiście, bo kiedyś dawno poznaliśmy sie tylko przez sieć.
Help!
I'm confused...the category descriptions on ticketpro.pl are completely useless.
https://shop.ticketpro.pl/event_detail.asp?evnt=1541
Which category is "standing" (before the stage....not on the balcony i.e.)
120PLN - Płyta
Thank you very much :smth023 I just ordered my ticket :)
Anyone here wants to answer my other questions? :-D
- how do I get from the airport to the arena? (cheapest way possible)
- do I get back to the airport after the concert? Are the busses, trains etc. still working at nighttime?
- which mid-priced hotel is close to the arena or the airport?
Thanks!
and which airport are you talking about?
Quote from: MintQR on January 02, 2008, 01:37:18

I have no idea...how many airports does Katowice have!? The wizzair.com website doesn't exactly explain where the airport actually is. They list it as "Kattowitz/Krakau" :smth011
www.katowice-airport.com That's the one!
Plus: I just found out about a shuttle service (airport <-> downtown Katowice) offered by the flight company: http://grey.turystyka.com.pl/~wizzair and it only costs 20 zloty. :smth023
Only thing that still needs to be booked is a hotel room... :smth020
yepp :) the easiest way to get from katowice airport to the city is a bus shuttle. There's a couple of companies doing that but 20 zl is a fair price :)
as for a hotel, I gotta ask around to give you more precise info.
Just found one: www.hoteldiament.pl
A bit more expensive than expected but still okay (~70â,¬/night)
Travel organization completed - VERYYYY EXCITED :smth023 :smth023 :rocker
Did anyone outside order tickets at ticketpro.pl?
How long did it take for them to arrive?
I ordered two weeks ago and still nothing....not even a shipping confirmation. :(
have a great time to all going to this show :smth023
hope to hear great things in the morning.. :smth020
Setlist: (Tape), Open,Fascination Street, alt.end, The Walk
it seems,
there are some troubles with the screen behind.
"Porl without kilt"? I hope he has on pants then...
Oh to hear Impossible Things and Letter To Elise on the same night--lucky Poland!
Is there any live webstream? Audio/Video, any?
Hmmmmm.......I think I know where things are going from here.

nope,
just the live "setlist"
Encore 2: Three imaginary boys,
hmmm,
something is going on.... :-D
Well, we're either getting Faith tonight, or they're ending with Why Can't I Be You, or something that's not been done on this tour before!
i think we will have something something they haven't played yet.
i don't think they've just traded the two encores.
I think you're right, but we never know what Robert is thinking.
let's see!
i hope they're starting to move the encores, too.
becausa i'm quite ok with the main set and the changings there,
but actually the encores were a little bit too "frozen"
Overall, I agree. I'd like to see some of the Bloodflowers songs that've been rehearsed in soundchecks introduced occasionally, and maybe another new song or two in rotation with the others (replacing one or two of the songs from the self-titled album) but the encores are where work really needs to be done. Not that there's anything wrong with them, but 2 or 3 different sets would be nice to mix in.
Looks like there's coming a surprise for the encore 3, let's see...
i completely agree!
even for making every show different from another one, and to let people with the doubt on what it will be played.
i agree with you.
it seems they've just changed the order.
:smth011
-------
edit:
is that over with Why Can't I Be You?
The show is over, thanks a lot to Supel and Nevyn for their excellent coverage :smth023
hmm
that's not what i was expecting by looking at the second encore.
alright, now i go.
goodnight to everyone.

Yep. I thought that they would continue with "Mint car", "Piggy in the mirror" and "Plastic passion", but as someone wrote before, you never know what's on Bob's mind.
i'm really thinking that's right!
:-D
Well, that was a disapointment. Did they play for a full 3 hours?
So what happened? Any info on the on stage demeanor or setlist? :smth100

I would love for them to play something from the The Top. I'm seeing them on the last US date in New York. I hope they play anyone of these; A Thousand Hours, The Figurehead, Cold, Pornography, Forever, Other Voices, This Twilight Garden, Splintered In Her Head, Piggy In The Mirror, The Caterpillar, Shake Dog Shake, Give Me It, Faith. I know those aren't exactly setlist regulars, but I would be so happy if they played some of them.
Well, for what it's worth, Shake Dog Shake has been played a fair amount so far.
wow, i just logged in now to see that the show was pretty short last night?
Am I believing my eyes and they only did WCIBY for the 3rd encore?
and no Freak Show? :smth047
I think I read that Robert was suffering from toothache the other day...maybe he's in a lot of pain and had to cut the show short??
anyone know??

yeah, i read that too somewhere.. toothaches are bad, and you need strong painkillers for them!! the older we get, our teeth begin to suffer!! :(
You can't blame him if he's in pain!!
I thhink it's strange to end the show with WCIBY... but Rob he's strange!!!! :-D
Ohi...I leave you for one evening and find all these bad comments!!! :-D
Maybe uncle Bob was bothered yesterday! :)
Please, don't lose your "faith"...ops...sorry!!!
My first thoughts were, maybe it was one of those venues that is really strict because they played for 2h 59 mins and maybe they wanted to play more and had to stop.

yeah, melb. they had a curfew.. it was aSunday night!
BTW.. are there any photos from this gig available yet, except for the only one I can find or see posted ?
I was thinking that. Maybe they had planned on something else and realized that they ran out of time.

curfew... pearl jam had this problem in Katowice as well last summer. but it was open air .
Isn't it unusual to have a SUPPORT band, 65dos, after the headling band finishes?
was it true the support band played afterwards?
I don't think that's true, is it?
sorry, i thought i saw it in the setlist on the first page?
my mistake, it's not there now. :!:
some photos from Katowice :)

Hey, I return from Katowice, recording this but... quality very poor :(
There's this review of the Spodek gig on interia.pl in Polish and it was plain vicious. Basically he complained there weren't enough songs from Disintegration and that the only good song on Pornography was 100 Years to which he complained that Robert Smith was trying to be like Slash on his solo in the song. He said they played with no emotion. It was a terrible review and I will look for this guy when my wife and I go back to Poland this summer. I would tell that loser that this ain't the Disintegration Tour 1989. BTW, they played 7 songs from Disintegration in Warsaw, is that enough for this prick? If any of you understand Polish go that website and click on music and then alternative.
Hi!
Back from the concerts.
Monday an Tuesday were very long days, also Wednesday when I was back in Warsaw helping my family because on Thursday it was my grandpa 100 birthday... Yesterday I went back to Poznan, but had to work... So my review of this concert will be a little later. But it was my first The Cure concert where I was in the second row just in front of Robert. I managed to be so close only to FTODGS as during this song I had no room even to write a setlist for curefans.com... It was little to much for me and I decided to go to the end of stage...
I had great time and now I am waiting for Rome, Barcelona and Paris...

Hello! Just back from Poland... Both shows were wonderful - different setlists (many of my dreams came true - Prayers for Rain, Hanging Garden, To Wish Impossible Things...) :smth020, the lovely smile of Robert when he looked at the flag of our fan-club... We stood at the first row at both shows (in Warsaw - right in front of Robert, in Katowice - in front of Porl, I really liked his outfit!)... In Katowice we got to meet Jason Cooper after the show... He was so nice! Very polite and talkative...
I told him that we came from Moscow, Russia to see the Cure play and Jason said something like "It's cute, we have to come to your country, we've never played there". So sweet of him... I asked Jason to tell the other band members that they were amazing! I hope de didn't forget! ;)
any recordin of the show ??
[link removed by the staff]
but this is in mp3
better source than distributed earlier.
i'm sorry nevyn, but please don't post mp3 links here as curefans is an mp3 free forum.
send them in pm if absolutely necessary. otherwise only lossless audio links here please.
thanks for your understanding.
ok jp :)
sorry :)
