Title: Unreleased digitally remixed albums
Post by: scatcat on November 04, 2007, 15:08:00
I heard that the next albums for re-lease, digitally remixed are finally.. 'Disintegration', 'Mixed up', and 'Wish'.

Is this still going ahead? what with the new album coming out, and maybe their last physical CD to be released, has anyone got more information on these?

The only information i've got is from COF:
The digital remastered albums Disintegration, Mixed Up and Wish will be released sometime in 2008. The new album will be released in April/Mai 2008. There are two versions planned, one more commerical single disc version and a two disc version put together by Robert.

The only album what is missing is Bloodflowers. Won't it be released also in 2008, or am i wrong?
Thanks in advance for the answer  :)

I've just checked the Discography section of the 4Tour tourbook and the deluxe edition remastered versions of Disintegration, Entreat, Mixed Up, Wish, Show and Paris are down for 2008 release.
Wild Mood Swings and Bloodflowers are down for 2009 release.

Happy I could help Scatcat! I'm afraid I'm a complete nerd when it comes to reading about Cure stuff....

Totally agree with you about next year - I can't wait for all the re-releases and the new album either!

You are in the right place for 'nerds' we are united in a similar cause.. 'The Cure'
I do not apologise for this, on my behalf... I am a 'fact nerd' .. need facts.. read books.. listen to music.. there are others who know and have access to more.. the magical people who share what they have heard and experienced.. the technical geniuses!!  :D  that is what makes this site the ultimate in "The Cure" information!

:rocker next year will arrive.. with or without will... but the new promises some great releases in our favourite music !!

I can't wait for the Disintegration remasters. I'm looking forward to the Mixed Up remasters too. I didn't really like the original, but I think remastering them will 'bring out the magic' perhaps? Wish should be great too, I hope there's some alt/demos of 'doing the unstuck' and 'end'. Oh man, 2008 is going to be a great year for fans of The Cure!! Woohoo!!

I'm really looking forward to the remaster of Entreat most...it's the only Cure album I'm missing.  Well, actually I'm looking forward to them all...

I have to say... I am worried that Disintegration willl be a disappointment, in the re-mix.. ( I am fond of it as it is..)

WHAT ABOUT THIS?!

FROM CHAIN OF FLOWERS:

11 Cure cd's to be released on SHM-CD in Japan:

"I received a email from theidealcopy with information about 11 new Japanese Mini-LP Sleeve CD's that are coming out.

They are all coming out on the SHM-CD format. I looked this up and found
( http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/music/essentials/shm-cd.html)  :

The high quality SHM-CD (Super High Material CD) format features enhanced audio quality through the use of a special polycarbonate plastic. Using a process developed by JVC and Universal Music Japan discovered through the joint companies' research into LCD display manufacturing, SHM-CDs feature improved transparency on the data side of the disc, allowing for more accurate reading of CD data by the CD player laser head. SHM-CD format CDs are fully compatible with standard CD players.

I'm not sure how much improvement in sound you can really get from this format.  CD is digital, it either works or it doesn't.

It appears that most of the albums have the standard track listing or are double CD's with bonus tracks that are available on the bonus discs of the Rhino remasters, or in the Join the Dots box set.

The limiting factor on this is the price, the SHM-CD's appear to run from $38.99 to $57.99 each !!!

An interesting collectible, but very pricey."
