Title: Opening pages in the same window
Post by: dsanchez on March 26, 2008, 10:48:06
I guess many of us have noticed that when we place a link to another page from the forum -topic or message- this page is open in a new window, while we would like it to be open in the same window. Take for example the following link:

http://curefans.com/index.php/topic,4773

if you clic on it, a new window will be open.

For this not to happen, we can do as follow:

1-Write the address you want the people to see (http://......)

2-Select the address and then clic in the world icon (http://curefans.com/Themes/curefans/images/bbc/url.gif)in the toolbar. This will create something like:

[url]http://curefans.com/index.php/topic,4773[/url]

3-Place iurl instead url. We will have something like this

[iurl]http://curefans.com/index.php/topic,4773[/iurl]

4-And thats it!...the link should open in the same window. Try this for instance

http://curefans.com/index.php/topic,4773 (http://curefans.com/index.php/topic,4773)

Now if you want something more modern, you can link to a text instead the http://... For instance, for the example above, you could have something like

[iurl=http://the page address]a text describing what the page contains[/iurl]

For instance

[iurl=http://curefans.com/index.php/topic,4773]4Tour - your thoughts after the european tour?[/iurl]

will create something like this

4Tour - your thoughts after the european tour? (http://curefans.com/index.php/topic,4773)

Hope it will be helpful :smth023
