THE NEW ALBUM 'SINGLE OR DOUBLE?' DEBATE...
I JUST FEEL ON REFLECTION THAT MAKING THE NEW ALBUM A 'SINGLE' (WHATEVER THAT MEANS... 8 TRACKS? 13 TRACKS? 21 TRACKS?!!) WILL BE SOMEHOW 'BETTER' - MORE COHERENT - MORE IN TUNE WITH THE BAND AS IT IS...
IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE LABEL - THEY ARE HAPPY(?!!) TO TRUST ME WHATEVER WE DECIDE...
AND ANYWAY (BIG CLAIM ALERT!) EVERYTHING WE RECORDED DURING THE NEW ALBUM SESSIONS WILL GET RELEASED - IN THE REAL WORLD NOT JUST AS DIGITAL...
THAT DARK SECOND ALBUM FOR CHRISTMAS MAY NOT BE AS FANCIFUL AS I THINK?!!

Something he said in an interview(?), Janko. I think the majority of the fanbase has written it off as a nice idea that just won't happen. I'd love it to; a Christmas album would be perfect for the Cure. Cold, wintry, dark.... All very good things in reference to The Cure's music.
But we'll see.

Let's hope this becomes true! After the more 'commercial' stuff... a real dark Cure album!?

I really don't think it's going to be a Christmas album like "Robert Smith sings Frosty the Snowman" or something. He's just saying that all of the material will be out. I don't see Christmas time happening, but Spring maybe?
of course it's not "Robert singing Frosty the Man",
but also the date of Christmas is going to reveal itself incorrect.
Well, I was surprised at how many people around the web were taking his comments semi-literally, as in "Oh! A Cure Christmas album would be great!".

but well, it would be great!!!
but simply, it won't happen!
