Dark Album or not Dark Album? That's the question
December 21st, 2012.
When it's ready.
(I.e. when it's recorded and mixed and polished and all that...)
...when Roger is free to add keys.
Shouldn't it be better a question like:
Who still belief there's gonna be a Dark Album Yes or No
Or like:
When do you HOPE :? the "Dark album" will be released?
For me Yes ! I really do belief there's gonna be one in future and I really HOPE somewhere around Christmas 2010 but there is no sign, no message , nothing at all ... :(
Never. Latest album sides had only one decent song.
with you on this one trust!!!!
i'll keep believing until robert smiths last breath!!! and even then i hope someone will find the material in his house or something. even if it's not good for 'the cure standards' it's still better than the rest...

I think if we do the math, we should have a new album next year (which hopefully will include a proper European Tour - not a Festivals one)
What's the Dark Album?
The
Dark Album is supposed to be the second part of
4:13 Dream, and Smith though to have it ready a year later:

To tell the truth, we're not sure anymore if this album will be ever released.
Oh yeah, I heard about that. Didn't Robert say he wanted to release them both a a double album?
No, the Dark Album was most a kind of continuation of 4:13 Dream.

Yes, he said that (NME interview 2012)!
Quote from that: "Robert regrets not making 4:13 the double album he intended, but was "worn down by the f*cking idiots around me at the time"."

Well, Robert said in 2012 they would make more sense as a double album, because the thinks something's missing when listening to "4:13 Dream" (and what's missing: the unreleased, "darker" songs)...
However, now with the line-up changed, it's very uncertain these unreleased tracks will ever see the light of day (maybe, maybe as some kind of re-issue?). :(
Let's face it: Robert is indeed a combination of John Lennon & Paul McCartney. The Dark album is more representative of John Lennon's music, so it needs to be released to "balance" Robert's Paul McCartney-like songs.
I voted for never,but I wasn't sure and checked Robert's statement from 31.3.2014 again
and now I'm almost sure, that the dark album will never materialize and for the most of
us it's understandable why.Of course...never say never;a limited one-off edition is conceivable.
