Looks like Israel's genocidal campaign in Gaza is not enough: They just launched hours ago an unprovoked attack on Iranian soil which risk of dragging the whole region to a darker time. Parsi summarizes it pretty well:

QuoteIsrael is conducting a war against international law itself.

And because of Western complicity and support for Israel when it killed 100s of civilians to get one (!) alleged militant in Gaza or Lebanon ("Israel has a right to defend itself"), Israel is not continuing this conduct in Iran.

In the middle of the night, Israel bombed residential buildings where Iranian scientists or military officials lived with their families - as well as scores of other completely civilian families.

If any country targeted American soldiers - not on the battlefield and not even in their barracks - but in their homes together with their children, the US would rightfully call that terrorism.

But Israel has systematically tried to erase all the norms around the use of force and international law that have painstakingly been created over the course of the decades after WWII.

The world that emerges from that is one of chaos, anarchy, and the law of the jungle - all things the US asserts it stands against.

Yet another war thread, couldn't we just put them all into one big "war" topic?  :1f636:

Ukraine has a comrade in arms. It desperately needs one. And today is Friday the 13th!

Ursula Von der Leyen just published on Twitter: "Europe urges all parties to exercise maximum restraint,  de-escalate immediately and refrain from retaliation"

If it was Iran attacking Israel, I am sure she would have written "Israel has the right to defend itself"  :persevere:

One thing is certain, Iran is not a country I would like to live in.

Try listening to e.g. The Cure in Iran...

QuoteAfter the 1979 Islamic Revolution, music was criminalised in Iran.

Western songs were forbidden, record shops vanished and concert halls fell silent.

Anyone caught with music deemed 'un-Islamic' could be fined, lashed or imprisoned for 'causing corruption on earth' under Iranian law.

But this did not stop people from listening - far from it.

Mister "I bring peace within 48 hours"? Well, probably not...

QuotePresident Trump has long campaigned on a promise of "no wars".

He also said he would end the Ukraine-Russia and Israel-Gaza wars when he took office - which he hasn't.

Whilst the White House said it didn't green light Israel's attack on Iran, Trump's social media posts certainly seem to suggest he's OK with it.

Earlier, he posted: "Iran must make a deal, before there is nothing left, and save what was once known as the Iranian Empire."

But maybe is better to live there in those conditions (I admit, not the best) than living in a country in ruins, which is what exactly happened to all countries bombed by the US in the past two decades. By the way, Iran is the last from the seven:

Only if one day the US (or the EU) are ran by impartial leaders. But the Israel lobby is way too strong and has strong influence in US foreign policy. Listen Noam Chomsky:

Well, mine was a rhetorical question expressed out of despair... I'm well aware nobody is going to stop them, unfortunately... Too bad Chomsky cannot talk anymore, otherwise he would have many interesting things to say right now, even about Trump and his Svasticar buddy.

When Russia invaded Ukraine, all Western leaders rightfully condemned the aggression. But if it's Israel...
