And of course the whole "Iran affair" will give journalists the perfect excuse to suddenly forget all about Gaza, where the few people still living and breathing have been cut off from the rest of the world...

... and the protests against Trump, or the crisis in Sudan, or many of the other long-forgotten wars around the world...  :anguished:

Good to listen Tucker (who supported Trump fervidly) to oppose the US joining Israel in their war against Iran

Well let's hope Iran can build some atom bombs and win the war; then this terrible rock & pop music will be banned by these religious fanatics world-wide!

The hypocresy:

QuoteGerman Chancellor Friedrich Merz told German radio, on Tuesday, during an interview at the G7, that by striking Iran, Israel was doing "dirty work" for everyone. "I can only say I have the greatest respect for the fact that the Israeli army and the Israeli government had the courage to do this," Merz continued.

Thanks for the reminder, I'd almost forgotten we have a new chancellor.

He gets criticism

But: keep in mind that Germany was the country where the holocaust happened, thus traditionally Israel is seen as a "friend".

Plus keep in mind that Iran has been "on the radar" of US forces for years, because of their support for terrorists world-wide.
Article from 2008 (!):
https://www.brookings.edu/articles/iran-terrorism-and-weapons-of-mass-destruction-2/

QuoteSince the Islamic Revolution in 1979, Iran has been one of the world's most active sponsors of terrorism. Tehran has armed, trained, financed, inspired, organized, and otherwise supported dozens of violent groups over the years. Iran has backed not only groups in its Persian Gulf neighborhood, but also terrorists and radicals in Lebanon, the Palestinian territories, Bosnia, the Philippines, and elsewhere. This support remains strong even today: the U.S. government regularly contends that Iran is tied to an array of radical groups in Iraq.

Speaking of Mr. Stegner: as honorable as his efforts for (worldwide) peace are... it was his party that voted for war credits in the German Reichstag in 1916, and it is his party that provides the old and new German Defense Minister. He acts as if the S*D invented peace!  :?

summarizes pretty well the consequences of yesterday's unlawful US attack to Iran:

The problem is not only Trump, the problem as well is all European leaders not calling out his actions. Is outrageous. Check this great article:

https://responsiblestatecraft.org/us-strikes-iran-europe/

QuoteThe European Union's response to the U.S. strikes on Iran Saturday has exposed more than just hypocrisy — it has revealed a vassalization so profound that the European capitals now willingly undermine both international law and their own strategic interests.

The statement by the E3, signed by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and French President Emmanuel Macron, following similar statements by the president of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, and its high representative for foreign affairs Kaja Kallas, perfectly encapsulates this surrender.

The European trio affirmed their support for the security of Israel — and only Israel, as if other nations in the Middle East weren't entitled to security. They repeated the rhetoric that Iran "can never have a nuclear weapon" and endorsed the U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities despite the numerous conclusions of both the IAEA and the U.S. intelligence community (IC) that Iran is presently, or at least before Saturday's attack, not working on weaponizing its nuclear program.

In truly Orwellian fashion, the E3 called on Tehran to "engage in negotiations leading to an agreement that addresses all concerns associated with its nuclear program" — despite the fact that Iran was literally engaged in those very negotiations with the E3's foreign ministers on Friday, the day before the U.S. strike — as it was preparing to continue negotiations with the U.S. in Oman before Israel launched the war a week before. In fact, Israel's brazen decision to sabotage U.S.–Iranian diplomacy is precisely the evidence that, contrary to what the E3 now imply, Iran has engaged in talks seriously enough to make the prospect of concluding a new deal realistic.

Yeah, so what will we do? There is nothing I can do now, just like I'm powerless to impeach Trump... (This all is nothing "new", Trump had his eyes on Iran during his first term already...)

QuoteOne American president after another held back from deploying their military might against the Islamic Republic for fear of sinking the US into potentially the most perilous Middle East war of all.

Now, the commander-in-chief, who promised to be a president of peace, has crossed this Rubicon with direct military strikes on Tehran's nuclear sites – the most consequential move yet in the second term of a president who has prided himself on breaking all the old rules.

It's an unprecedented moment provoking alarm in capitals the world over.

Iran's next move could be even more momentous. Its 86-year-old supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, now reported to be sheltering in a bunker, has spent nearly four decades cautiously playing a long game against his most powerful enemy to protect his most important asset – the Islamic Republic.

If he does too little, he will lose face; if he does too much, he could lose everything.

"Khamenei's next moves will be the most consequential not just for his own survival but for how he will go down in history," says Sanam Vakil, director of the Middle East and North Africa programme at think tank, Chatham House.

"His poisoned chalice is potentially more potent than the one Khomeini drank in 1988," she continues, referring to the reluctant decision of Iran's first revolutionary leader to bitterly accept a ceasefire in the devastating Iran-Iraq war.
