i have to agree with this. i've always had this "problem" with joy division. i really really like and respect them a lot. but i can rarely listen to more than half an album at a time, then i need to listen to something else for a change. there's just so much anxiety and desolation in their music, practically in every song. this never seems to happen with the cure. even the "depressed" songs by the cure are still somehow energizing, in their own way: they give you energy, whereas joy division often takes it away.
