hi guys,
the lullabies conversation that followed at this point is to be found here:
http://curefans.com/index.php/topic,4474.msg40355.html

as that was a more suitable topic for that discussion (since i understood that none of you actually said you HATED the lullabies cd... ;)).

well, it's my first post, so first af all: "Hello, everyone!"

I suppose the time is the only criteria to decide whether you like or dislike something. So here is what didn't change with years and remaind (bad) as it was:

Doubt (first of the worst, even Smith himself admitted it once)
Six different ways (siply dull)
Pirfect Girl (way too simple and straight for me)
Fight (was it supposed to be worst U2 song? :))
Disintegration (everyday i like it less and less)
This is a lie (this is boring)
Maybe someday (maybe never again?:))
Never (too clever to be a good song)

I used to dislike "strange" songs like "New day", "Mr. Pink Eyes", "Screw" and stuff like this, but then I realised that they are just "boys on drugs and having fun" kind of, just freaky songs that you can make fun of imagining what strange pictures and thougts were in the heads of Bob and Co while they were plaing them.

Robert seems to have no taste in his own music. "DOUBT" is a fantastic song!!!  ;)

I love your name, Happytheman. One of my favorite Cure demos, it's one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. Welcome to the site!  :D

Friday, I'm In Love (killed on radio, overplayed and really overrated)

Mint Car (Friday pt. 2 but even weaker)

Wendy Time (A waste of a song on Wish, when it should have been the much better This Twilight Garden instead on that album.)

There Is No If... (I don't like the lyrics and it's too cliched, also rather cheesy melody)

Club America (really about half of WMS to be honest, but this is just plain bad)

I know some will disagree, but you asked.  I can't really slag any of the 80's stuff because they were so original and even if some of it sounds outdated it's still appealing.  The 90's stuff sometimes sounds rehashed, bored and just going through the motions.  Mr. Pink Eyes is a silly song but catchy and original.  I can say the same for Happy The Man.  Shake Dog Shake should have been on Pornography, really raw and disturbing song with a really good deep drum sound.  I wonder if he had the lyrics for it in his home during Pornography.
"You're dying for the hope is gone, from here we go nowhere again."

Right, for my two pence worth - I really have a strong disliking for the WHOLE Wild Mood Swings album... there really is not one song on that LP that I like! And thats not for want of trying either...

Agreed. I gave it many chances...it's just too damn happy and poppy for me.

Hmmm I don't have many songs I really HATE. But I do often skip songs like Friday I'm In Love, Thousand Hours, Round and Round and Round and stuff like that. I also tend to get annoyed while listening to High but until now I have no idea why actually.

HATE??? No, noooo... i realy can't hate any cure songs. Johny hate jazz and... enough...
Sorry, my english is...

r1ghteousone

Can't think of too many i genuinely hate...although i do agree that RS has a kinda warped perception of what makes a good Cure song. He's contradicted himself in the past anyway, well in one sentence most times.

This one is esasy.  The 13th.

No no no!

I love the 13th!  Sure it's different,  but that's the point! it's a happy song that isn't cheesy and intentional like Mint Car, for example...
anyway,  I totally understand that everyone is affected differently by each song

I can't hate any of theire songs,  they are too big for me: but,  some songs have disappointed me - like Dredd Song (Did I really go see Judge Dredd to hear that??!!)
And Numb,  and The Promise, and just say yes,  but it's more boring than bad.   and several others, but this topic is too negative for my taste!

Agree with you 100%. There's no songs I hate, just ones that I seem to skip over. And yes, I love The 13th too. It's very different to their other songs and it shows their versatility, it's the perfect song to play on a sunny day. Although I can see how some people wouldn't like it.

By the way, I just "applauded" you, I'm your first, awww. Hahaha.

Well,  you never forget your first, right?
thanks,  I'll applaud you back  ;)

I wish there were more attempts to play the  13th live, by the way,  it must be their least played single??
Robert pretending to have a nasal female hispanic singing voice is just ridiculously funny!  and I love: am I seducing, or being seduced..?
