What exactly is an emo band? I never got that, because some people are considered emo, but they don't consider themselves emo...other people consider one band emo, while others say they aren't...

WHAT IS EMO???

Heh..I don't really know, I don't really like the emo label because it is so overused, for anyone who wears dark makeup, tight pants, I don't know. It's kind of silly what people consider emo. My Chemical Romance is emo, no doubt in my mind they are the epitome of emo.
But I think I get a bit confused, am I seducing or being seduced?

I don't like Rammstein either.

Here are more i don't like:

Jennifer Lopez
all Emo bands
Simple Minds (sorry if someone here likes them, i used to like them, but i has changed)
Scorpions (a German Heavy Metal band)
HIM
Bloodhound Gang

and this is why I hate them.

Who are those fags? (pardon my french)

Rammstien. Worst people ever.
A goth band?
Edit: I listen to Bauhaus, even though I don't really classify them as a goth band. I adore them. I saw them last year. I , also, listen to Beseech. But,that's it, as far as goth music with me.

Is that what's considered goth nowadays? I consider "true" goth music to be the early stuff...the 80s post-punk stuff...

No way, they're just "death metal." God, I hate labeling things.

rammstein as death metal? hey certainly not! you must be thinking of something like morbid angel there.
i hate labeling things too but sometimes it does have it's place. just looking at the sub-genres of death metal and rammstein doesn't fit this at all:

Rammstein is definitely not death metal.

I think industrial-electronica metal would be more suitable, if I dared to name a genre.

They often get thrown in the nu metal genre along with the likes of Korn, Limp Biscuit, Rage Against the Machine, Slipknot, Deftones, Linkin Park, and System of a Down.

i guess that must be an american thing (just like nu metal is too). i've never ever heard anyone calling them nu metal around here. miscellaneous terms like industrial/electronic/dark wave metal i've heard though.

(rage against the machine is called nu metal in the US? that's a bit strange to me, really! i wouldn't have guessed how they could be thrown together with something as silly as korn/slipknot!)
