Rammstein is definitely not death metal.

I think industrial-electronica metal would be more suitable, if I dared to name a genre.

They often get thrown in the nu metal genre along with the likes of Korn, Limp Biscuit, Rage Against the Machine, Slipknot, Deftones, Linkin Park, and System of a Down.

i guess that must be an american thing (just like nu metal is too). i've never ever heard anyone calling them nu metal around here. miscellaneous terms like industrial/electronic/dark wave metal i've heard though.

(rage against the machine is called nu metal in the US? that's a bit strange to me, really! i wouldn't have guessed how they could be thrown together with something as silly as korn/slipknot!)

Let me be clear here, I don't group Rage together with Korn, though some do.  Must be the rock/rap thing.  The media always has to categorize bands in these stupid new/nu? genres.  There's just so many out there, from alt. country to emo, screamo to brit pop, shoegaze to desert surf, math rock to dream pop, and so on.  There are probably well over a thousand of these sub-genres.  I find it all rather confusing and silly to be quite honest.

f course i didn't mean to imply that you did those categorizations yourself. i've just noticed before that sometimes things get categorized somewhat differently in the US than in europe, so that's what i was thinking. for instance, i've noticed a few times that 'gothic metal' seems to mean somewhat different genre in the US as it does around here. probably because the popular bands filed under that term here are not at all that popular in the US, and the other way round.
and of course all this just adds to the general confusion about all these millions of sub-genres out there...

Is that what's considered goth nowadays? I consider "true" goth music to be the early stuff...the 80s post-punk stuff...
I misclassified them I guess. I apologize. You must be thinking bands like Bauhaus.

AlluivialL......they are so gross....eeeee

I know, they're also Nazis, again, worst people ever.

No, Rammstein isn't a Nazi Band at all. If they were i think the government would outlow them.
But e.g Böse Onkelz they have a bad will, because they are considered to be Nazis.
Rammsteins music is a mix of Heard Rock, Metal and Industrial Rock, that what i've read on Wikipedia.
I've encapsulate it.
But in the end i can't stand both bands!!! And i hate Nazis!!! :smth076

Yes, and Danse Society, Sisters Of Mercy, stuff like that. That's the kind of goth music I'm into.\

:smth001 Oh, and Alluivia, it's totally okay. I f*ck up all the time on this site and stay stuff that I wish I could take back, but hey, we're all humans. We all have our ups and downs. I personally like expressing my inner feelings aloud, but boy...sometimes things get heated when I trigger arguments.

:smth020 Don't worry, I still like you! lol

I'm sure Mr. Tolhurst would thank you! :P

Yeah, I got into a horrible fight at Nightmareonelmstreetfilms.com and it seems to have healed itself over time...Except in that case it was personal; in this case it's Rammstein!

Hang in there! :)

Can't stand Kasey Chambers.. tell me this..why does an Australian singer SING like she is an American country singer??

There are many I just don't like, but two "artists" that spring to mind are; Celine Dion (shudder) and Deltra Goodrem. Now, I know the latter has beaten a terrible cancer, gone to hell and back, and for this, I applaud her tenacity. BUT, I cringe when I see her on T.V. ( she's always on Australian tv at the moment). She appears....manufactured somehow. I, personally, don't like all the flouncy girly giggly image she has. Just seems so made up....

WHOA there!!! I just looked at the pic of "Rammstein". Goodness.. they're um.. different aren't they? Never heard of them myself, but hey, that means nothing! Plus all the talk of screamo, shoe gaze, desert surf etc., makes me really feel my age... hehe...I have absolutley NO idea what these are.. Maybe I have just lead a sheltered life!!

Kate Nash! How can people say she is good when she sings about mouthwash and drinking cups of tea?! Shes awful bleh!
Also Lily Allen -  chavs are taking over britain!
Jack penate - i think thats how you spell his name, yuk! even though tim pope made some of his videos.
I don't think these people are classed as artists but i really don't like them

Carnage Visor

These hoser poser losers that come from American Idol and sing the wimpiest most whitebread songs ever, no meaning or heart, all about happiness, parties, and love. Where's the storytelling?

Where's the heartbreat and emotion? Where's the music? Coming from a band that backed up Nsync, probably. Crap music, taking over the mainstream alongside country and rap (AKA crap)

Ugh, I hate these popstars....
