Not mine too, but the voices in my head are loud enough to convince me  :-D

my favorite cure album but i'm still not looking that much forward to this.

for the original dark trilogy the deluxe cds were nice to have - they were so much better sounding than the original cd versions (although not better than originals vinyls, so...).

'disintergration' can't be really essential at all to have as remastered version - actually i wouldn't be surprised if the sound turned out to be worse on the remastered cd than on the original (late 80s/early 90s were the height of cd mastering quality, 2010 can't beat that, sadly).

i was hoping for some more unknown news gems on the bonus disc here, just to make it really worth some waiting anyway.
but i guess it's too much to hope for another '2 late' or something like it.

The thing with Disintegration and the sound quality is quite a story. I don´t know all the details but I do know that the vinyl, for once is inferior to the cd-version. I remember when i bought my vinyl copy (four days before the release date in Sweden, boy was I proud?!) and brought it home to play with the rewievs in mind that this was a recording that you could tune in your complete hi-fi system from. Gee was I disappointed! The recording was crap! The cd-version though, that was another story. Great recording, and it was from that version the rewievers made their statements. Pity I didnt have a cd-player at the time (didn´t crawl to that cross until 1997).

So I guess that the production of this 2010 version has little or nothing of  superiority to the original cd-release.

But still... The album will look great with the others in the shelves.

yes, the vinyl version of 'disintegration' indeed sounds a lot worse than the original cd - completely opposite than with the earlier cure albums, with which the vinyl version was (and still is) THE version to have.

i also remember being disappointed with the vinyl sound as i had grown to expect it to be the best choice.
and combine that with the disappointment that a few tracks really essential songs (imo) are missing from the vinyl version, the only way the vinyl surpasses the cd is having the tremendous artwork in larger format.

but for aesthetic reasons, there's even a better choice: the UK picture disc.
which imo is the most gorgeous picture disc ever.  :smth023
