Under these headline an article was published (Neue Westfaelische,21.3.2014),in which was claimed
that "most of the popular artists are psychologically disturbed" and that simply a personality disorder
would facilitate great success (Borwin Bandelow, author, psychiatrist).
From my point of view a daring assertion.Maybe worth of an discussion. Is that claim not too general?

Well we all know that David Bowie is "deranged".  ;)

David Bowie - I'm Deranged (Unreleased version) 1995

But really, I think this is all part of the "myth-making" that 'stars' are somehow 'different' to us. In reality, they're "normal" people (apart from the crazy ones, ha ha...)! They just feel the need to go out and perform their stuff. If this hadn't worked out, they would have to do a 'normal' job, like most of us.
Maybe you need a little bit of "exhibitionism" inside of you to go out on stage, but that's all in my humble opinion.
Of course there were (are) artists a little tinged with madness, but to say all of them were like this, is way too general!
... and every voice belongs to you...

Well, it's my opinion that we're all a bit deranged... It's just that some are more than others, that's all.  :-D
