The Wire is one of the favourite TV series ever, despite being a bit too violent sometimes (though, come to think of it, another favourite of mine, Hannibal, was also really violent). Politically speaking, The Wire was a clever take on how corrupt and malfunctional the different layers of society work in the US. I particularly enjoyed the description of the police hierarchy, the world of the news and journalism, and school as well. And of course Omar, to this day he still is an iconic character!
