There are A LOT of bands that play the same, or almost the same, setlist every night. I'm sure it's well over 50%.

There are others who do some occasional changes. The last Depeche Mode tour was very predictable, almost using a certain formula to choose songs - but the setlists were 90% the same.

Some bands really never change at all, and some change a lot. I'd say the Cure are among the better bands about this kind of thing, yet even we fans still complain. They certainly go out of their way to add at least some variation. Even if they're playing a lot of the same songs, they often do it in a different order from night to night. Most bands can't even bother to do that.

Different years have been different for The Cure. 1987 was one of their most static tours ever. Just imagine how people would be complaining if we had these forums back then:

On the opposite end of the spectrum, the Swing Tour was full of all kinds of surprises:

I think the 2005-2008 era has become somewhat redundant, but then again, I think Cure fans are somewhat spoiled.

Well, I am just happy that I finally get to see them live ;)  I will feel spoiled no matter what.  Thanks for the info!

I don't think I'm drinking before this show.  I want to remember it all.

Meddy

I may have a drink or two before the show...but I nothing more, because I agree, this is something that I want to remember.  I told my hairstylist that I personally feel like this day is bigger than my wedding will be.  OMG!  I can't wait.

From COF:

"I called Allstate Arena and the person I spoke with said the facility has no set curefew and that would be up to the band themselves. wonder how long they'll play on saturday?"

Plainsong

And they have Friday night off! Sleep late on Saturday, boys--give us 4 encores!

j

No kidding.  They are off on Friday and again on Sunday.  No reason not to play until 6am (although I have a 7am flight home on Sunday!)

Plainsong

Hey, if you're flying home from O'Hare, you could still make it...;)

this will be my first Cure concert, I can't wait! I'm overwhelmed with excitement...have had my tickets since the presale last year, and even though they aren't the best seats, I know that it will be the best night of my life!

With no curfew, I hope we get an extra long show Saturday night or at least an extra encore!  8)

Only 3 more days to go now! :-D   I can't wait to catch my flight on Friday, check out the town, visit friends & see the show! :-D  Anyone sitting in Section 5?  I'm in Row 3 Seat 1 next to the sound boards.  Is that a bad thing to sit next to that?  At 1st I thought the seat would be too far away from the stage but with the half stage set-up, they don't seem too bad.  Anyone know if they are OK or not?   I didn't expect to get decent seats since I bought them in February. At least I'm glad to be on the end of the row & not in the middle.  Maybe then I'll be able to see the stage better.

Well to everyone who is going, have a safe trip & a have a great night.  :smth020

That is about where I was initially (on the other side of the board), but returned my tix when it was rescheduled, then bought crowbi_wan's ticket.  Your seat should be fine...keep in mind that the sound at the venue is mixed to what the engineer hears at the board, so you should be hearing about what he is hearing.
