(WELT) Live broadcast from Notre Dame de Paris on December 7th, 2024

An overall dignified and successful inauguration if you ignore the organ interpretations in the last hour. ;)  When you consider the kind of fires that occurred in the Middle Ages and how long the construction phases of cathedrals and similar buildings lasted, simply due to a lack of money, you have to acknowledge a record performance by the aforementioned professional groups. :smth023

"Anora" - quite a good movie actually, some funny/absurd scenes in an otherwise serious movie...

I'm lying on the floor of the night before...

Prepared for the worst-case scenario: Poland | ZDF Magazin Royale (satire)

Today is Good Friday. So we can safely talk about German-Polish relations, right? ;)  Since the Ukraine war, the relationship has taken on a new quality. People have grown even closer in the face of a new, old threat.

In order not to digress too much, I'd like to stay on the topic of language. There are many town twinning arrangements. For example, Bad Oeynhausen went so far as to name its central market square after Inowrocław. It wasn't an issue until I did a little research last year. Inowrocław used to be called Hohensalza, which I find easier to pronounce and immediately connect with the spa. Is there at least one street in Inowrocław named after Bad Oeynhausen? I don't know.  :1f636:

Quote from: inthemoodforcinema.comLe quai des brumes is an adaptation of Pierre Mac Orlan's 1928 novel set in Montmartre in 1900. The UFA propaganda services considered the film's subject matter decadent and made it known that it was not desirable to shoot it.
