I'm very fond of "Sleep When I'm Dead."  I think that the studio version will have LOTS of crazy wah-guitar and some heavy bass (much like "All Kinds of Stuff").  All of this new, released material has a vibe reminiscent to "The Top."  I'm reminded of songs like: Give Me It, Stop Dead (THOTD), Shake Dog Shake and Japanese Dream (KMx3).
"... sleeping less every night"

I finally got my copy of Freakshow today!  Yahoo!  :-D

I love the studio version so much more then the live versions.  And All Kinds of Stuff is good too, but I still have to get into it.  I'm on my 5th listen of both songs.   :smth020  Love the art work on the cover.  Really cool & I love the lime green CD!  :D

I live in a town that is so redneck that if you say The Cure, they say "who?"  To which I say, NO!  Not The Who!  The Cure!  :P

Anyhow, so I went to the FYI here and found one copy of Only One, and two of Freakshow.  I asked, and it turns out that they only ordered or got two of each in the first place. Hm...Must find the ONE other local Cure fan.  Anyhow.  I bought both of the Freakshows in case one of my online cure friends has a hard time finding it.

Anyone else hear that "Sleep When I am Dead" is going to be the new single?  I really wanted "Underneath the Stars" but that was in vain as that is not "singles" material unfortunately.

If anyone is near Baltimore, Record and Tape Traders has an import of the CD single for $9. I'm going to call up some other stores and see if anyone has the vinyl before making a trek downtown.

(Hi everyone, I'm new!)

Yeah, the rumour seems to be that 'Sleep When I'm Dead' is to be the third single, with a b-side track called 'Down Under'. Let's wait and see what happens in July!  ;)

As for 'Freakshow', it's slowly growing on me... although I do have to admit that I still prefer 'The Only One' so far.
It's nice to get some new Cure music to listen to, though! :smth020

Freakshow

:D Let's hope it isn't a rumour + I would really appreciate Sleep when I'm Deadto be the new single.
Freakshow is great and the B-Side as well.

As for underneath the Stars - it is more than fantastic!!! But I can't imagine how it should fit into the other singles, not to speak of the album. Maybe it will be part of the "cHristmas" album???
Show me how you do that trick...

I've just this minute pre-ordered the next single from Amazon - yes, it's 'Sleep When I'm Dead'.  :smth023

Yep, firecrasher, that's the correct link.
The last two times I've ordered the new Cure singles from Amazon, they have reduced the price to around £1.98 by the time of despatch.

I don't see it on the US Amazon, but the other singles are about $2. Quite reasonable! The UK import is about $9 in stores, and I've never seen one of the vinyls in person.

Do you think if I ordered it on the UK page they would ship to US?

I don't see why not - I've ordered from amazon.fr - but thanks to the exchange rate it will be double the price of when it shows up on US Amazon, and shipping costs could be high. Freakshow is available on Amazon.com for $2 next week.

Yes, I am sure Amazon UK will ship to US. The postage may cost you a bit, though!
I've ordered books from Amazon US in the past, and they shipped to Norway no problems.

Oh, god I hope so. If I hear another single like Freakshow ... I'll end up breaking ... something. SWID is amazing though... prob my favorite of what I've heard off the new album.
