Hello! My name is Makoto, I'm 19 this year and serving my national service in the Singapore army. To be honest I wasn't that big a fan of the Cure (I knew all the big songs of course, and a few others) until I went for the concert in August this year and was absolutely blown away. Favourite Cure song? Probably 'A Letter To Elise' or 'Pictures of You'. 'Fire in Cairo'. Loads of them. :)

And a big hello and welcome to you, Makoto!!  I agree they are quite amazing live!!  :rocker  Glad you joined us and have fun.  Take care as well.   :D

Hey guys!
So glad to be here :-D
Umm... okay. I'm 14. I love The Cure.
Yeah, I'm into alot of New Wave and Darkwave bands.
The Cure, for me, is just the bee's knees!
I live in Ontario, Canada.
I'm a niner in highschool :P
And yeaaaah.
I don't really know when I started to like them, but I liked them when I was around 9 or 10, when I heard 'Just Like Heaven' on my cousin's CD player, then I kind of forgot about them, then I listened to them every now and then, mostly 'Just Like Heaven' and 'Boys Don't Cry', but now I'm into alot of their more punk stuff, and I admit, a little obsessed.
Oh, and Robert Smith is amazing.
And I find it kinda funny
I find it kinda sad
That the dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had

PHOENIX

Hey Hey!!! My chosen name is Phoenix....compared to all you others out there I'm probably a fossil!! LOL I'm 51 years old...yes 51...and I've been into The Cure ever since hearing Pornography in 82. An ex-drummer I always wanted to be in the band ever since Boris left, but for some reason known only to himself, Robert decided to choose Jason!!! Good choice mate! I've seen them more times than I can remember...the last being the Royal Albert Hall last April (06). I've got my tickets for the Wembley show next March....so if you see some old b**tard looking totally lost it's only me...come and say hello. Unless asked specifically I don't bite ok?? :P

Hi, my name is Boris from Germany, and I´m a fan since 1989. My father and I attended the Prayer Tour show in Frankfurt when I was only 11 years old. It was so inspirational in so many ways since now I´m a musician myself and The Cure is still my biggest influence. My favourite album is, of course, Disintegration. I´ve watched The Cure on the Dream Tour, the Zillo Festival and the Trilogy show in Berlin which was simply a dream come true for me.
I don´t know exactly how to contribute to this forum yet but I think it´s a nice opportunity to keep contact with like-minded people and read about experiences and stuff first hand. Let´s see...

Just found this thread and realized I hadn't introduced myself.

I'm Kat from Boston, MA and can name the Cure as my favorite band since the mid-80's.  I first heard them on the radio in 1981, but it took me a few years to find out what this band was actually called...before that time they were "that cool band that I don't know the name of."

Already old enough to be the mother of an adult son, I'm probably one of the older folks in cureland.  It's a real joy to see teens and younger adults discovering The Cure.

Right now, I'm really looking forward to the European tour where I'll be traveling on the Continent with a German friend for several dates and then to the UK to see my sweetie.  Also can't wait to meet some of the wild and crazy Dutch fans who have become dear to me over the past year.

Later for the US tour, there will be a crowd of about 10-15 of us who are doing some East Coast shows and hanging around together for 2 weeks.  We have some  Cure after-parties at clubs in the works and when I have more information about these, I will let everyone know.

Other bands that I really like include Sisters of Mercy, The Mission and The Smiths; but no other band other than The Cure inspires me to go out and seek other fans and interact on boards like this.

Glad to know this board is here.  Looks like a nice place.

christen-in-blood

yeah g'day to all those just like me. i am a 41y.o male living in Tasmania. my love affair with The Cure goes back to the early 80's. for me The Cure are number 1 followed very closely by Siouxsie and the Banshees and all the other bands that emerged postpunk, mainly New Wave/Romantics type of music. my love for Robert cannot ever be questioned. he is so briliant, an artistic genius. i love him because he is so very different. his words and music inspire me greatly. i will never get tired of listening to The Cure's music, NEVER. i cannot say which is their best song or album because they are all brilliant. they have never released a bad song or album. i have seen The Cure perform live twice, the 1st time in Melbourne then again in Brisbane. i wish i could see them more often but i am not wealthy enough. thanks for taking the time to read this. LONG MAY THE CURE PLAY.
"thanks, goodnight. you've been the noisiest audience i've ever listened to. goodnight." robert smith

Hello.

I've been a fan since 1989. Saw them first that year on the Prayer Tour, my first ever gig, and was blown away. Saw them for the 4th time at Wembley on 20th March (a week ago today!) and managed to get front row. I was speechless too. 41 songs! Amazing.

Saw someone with a curefans.com t-shirt on and thought I'd pop by...
