Show should have started by now. Hope everyone's enjoying themselves. Here's to hoping you guys get those alternate encores from last night!

(Is anyone getting texts from people at the show about setlists? I've had a funny feeling about a different song opening tonight and tomorrow.)

I was thinking the same thing.  Maybe they'll do like in Miami and open with OOTW.  Want is a possibility as well.  Three nights of Open is a little monotonous.

HOLY SHIT!

Let's not talk about it right now.....seriously.  I'm not in a good mood over it.  Plus they ruined a great set by playing BDC at the end.

But I can tell you that I feel like I have been in a 3 hour long earthquake.  I was right under the stacks on Simon's side, and I think my body is still shaking from the bass!

I can also honestly say that the wait for A Boy I Never Knew was well worth it.  Right up my alley.  Miserable.

The song "A Boy I Never Knew" has been thrown around by Robert Smith as one of the most "depressing" songs he's ever made as it is supposedly about the son whom he never had.[1]

Ah, sorry to hear that, J!

Do we have any other confirmed tapers? Do you know how any of their recordings turned out?

How was the show from your end? How was Prayers For Rain without keys? Or To Wish Impossible Things, for that matter? Did The Holy Hour have the keyboard backing tracks going? (Along with the lyrics, I've always felt the keyboard melody is the best thing about The Holy Hour.)

Are you going to be at the third night?

@Brian: Looks like we were right! Different opener tonight! (If I had to guess, I'd say tomorrow will open with a new song.)

I thought we weren't going to talk about it?  ;)

The guy that bought the ticket for me got stuck in traffic and didn't get to the venue until 7:15.  Plainsong had already started with me and another guy from Mexi-cure waiting outside.  Ran to the mens room to unload the gear and set up.  Prayers started.  Made it in the venue about half way through Prayers, then the annoying C next to me asked "What's that?" right into my right mic.  Lucky for her she was beyond HOT.  Listen, Honey, if you are reading this....yes I had 5 pesos for you to borrow and I would have given it to you if you weren't all over your husband 2 seconds before you tried to sweet talk me into giving you money.

Then there were other recording problems at various points....if you aren't a fan of bass-y recordings, don't listen to my recording.  What a difference being back by the board vs. being under the stacks makes.  I absolutely needed the rolloff tonight.

Sullen was supposed to be recording, as was Mike (http://www.carnagevisors.tk/).  I'm sure that there were more.

Heh! Sorry, J, I thought you meant not to talk about the recording, not the show itself.

And I will agree that it's just damned demented to close with Boys Don't Cry; but I'll forgive that, the rest of the night's set considered.

That has to be the best setlist in ages.  I'm still in shock over some of those songs.  I mean we all knew the Faith encore was coming, but To Wish Impossible Things and A Boy I Never Knew.  Who'd have thought?

What will be the surprises tomorrow?  Fingers crossed for Siamese Twins and Give Me It  :rocker

Maybe, if it's never been released before, they might include it in the new album ??

As for the encores.. it doesn't seem right, I mean they played soo much in Melbourne  every encore, how long did the concert go for there?

J thanks for your efforts.

I'm glad you got a much more interesting set tonight.

Judging from the name of the song, I'm willing to bet this is the same song from the "Lost 2004" sessions, with the lyrics that Craig P put up on COF, which meant this song is at least 3 years old.

That was incredible, J, you are the man.

Thanks so much for this.

(And as for it being a bad recording -- this sounds a better than most of the stuff to come out of the Australasian tour. My only criticism of this recording is that it's too quiet -- and that's got as much to do with me using my laptop's crappy built-in speakers than anything else. If this a bad J recording, your good recordings must be incredible.)

Hearing this, and Please Project, I've got very high hopes for the new album.

I had to have my levels low because I was right under the stacks.  I kept clipping so I had to drop the levels to compensate.  This recording is using the bass roll off filter.  It may have sounded like pooka's Mountain View recording without that filter ;) :-D

P.S.:  That last comment was a joke!  I know the feeling all too well when a recording doesn't turn out.  When I get home and have some free time, I'll boost the levels in post and see what happens.

Well after listening, yes this is the same song that was written in 2003-2004 by the old band Smith, Odonnell, Bamonte, Cooper and Gallup...Gone but not forgotten, so if its on the "new" record its not new

why this didnt make it and "I dont know whats going on" did is amazing

It sounds like a piano on this song. Did any of them play keys, or is on a backing track?

No keyboards.  What you hear is Porl on guitars.  The only keys I heard was last night during LGTB

Taping is like getting laid. Sometimes there are good nights, and sometimes bad, especially when your "equipment" doesn't work the way you want it to... (or if you "came" to the gig too late haha).

But kudos for all your efforts trying to get laid (with the Cure of course) tonight. The difference with my F-up was because of a switch setting (mic in vs line in). If I ran line in, even at the volume knob cranked in, no clipping would have occured at all. Plus the difference between CSB and CSHEB in their SPL capacity. That's the difference, but the end result of a F-up is like going limp all the same.

Which is again why multiple tapers at a show is ALWAYS a good thing.

I'm sure the new song(s) would have sounded more splendid with Roger.
Keyboards I never knew, perhaps?

Thanks again for blessing us with a lossless sample right after the show. More good stuff on DIME to come...

Thanks for the laugh and the fantastic analogy!

Found this under influences on The Cure's myspace:

TO WATCH HIM AS HE WAKES LOOK INTO HIS EYES I'D GIVE ALL I EVER HAD...

Sounds stunningly close to A Boy I Never Knew.  Man, what a sad song.  I have listened to it about 50 times now.  Did Mary have a miscarriage or something a long time ago?

As far as I know, it was never leaked to the general public before tonight.  Amazing how many people around me sat down during this song.  You can hear the conversations going on all around me in this recording...I was mesmerized.

A Boy I Never Knew

To have his arms around me, to sense his perfect trust
I’d give all I ever had…all I ever had…

I’d love to see him dream, I’d love to watch him sleep
To have his arms around me, ?
Held his arms in mine, sense his perfect trust
I’d give all I ever had for a moment of his love

He’s my heart and my soul
He’s my blood and my bones
He’s my prayers and my hope
My wishes and dreams
Seems so long ago, so long ago…

I’d love to watch him dream, love to see him sleep
To have his arms around me, feel him as he breathes
Hold his hands in mine, sense his perfect trust
I’d give all I ever had for a moment of his love

He’s my heart and my soul
He’s my blood and my bones
He’s my prayers and my hopes
My wishes and dreams
Seems so long ago…

He’s my blood and my bones
He’s my heart and my soul
He’s my prayers and my hopes
My wishes and dreams

A boy I never knew
And the man I’ll never know
I’ll never know, I'll never know…

To have his arms around me, sense his perfect trust
I’d give all I ever had…

Darth hit it right on the head.  It was a sort of mutiny on stage.  After Faith, Robert says:

"Thank you.  We're just going for a talk."

They came right back out and Robert said something that I can't figure out right now...something like:

"Since we've gone off and come back on again, we (at least got?) the chance to play this....the LAST SONG!"

I'm still not amused that they ended that stellar setlist with BDC.  I was hoping when they came out that they would play Forever, but no such luck.  It was only 10:10pm or so when they finished.

well, i guess it depends on the company it's in. but after something like the holy hour, other voices and faith... it's just pure blasphemy to go and play something like BDC.

anyway, i'm off again, bye-bye.

Wasn't there a Curiosa show that ended with something downbeat (Going Nowhere, maybe?) and then they played BDC and Robert said "Simon didn't want to end with a sad song"? Sounds like Simon wants everyone to go home happy.
But OMG what a setlist last night!

Remember back in 86, BDC was often played just before Faith   :)

I know a lot of people are sick of it, but to me its a timeless classic that never gets old.  And I hope to see them perform it next year, but you're right perhaps not as the final song.

The rest of the concert looks to have a good flow though
I really dig Plainsong and Disintegration opening and closing the main set.

Porl is really amazing, I was just in front of him on the 10th row. Very special thanks to Jef for the 2 songs. I can't wait to hear to the whole concert.

well, would definetely prefer it, if they either ditch BDC then or simply put it in the main set... can't see why it shouldn't work there (after IBD for example), that already was a major let down at the end of the last Trilogy show... Faith is a perfect ending to a night. somehow BDC doesn't work too well as a final encore.
anyway, nice to see Holy Hour + Other Voices return to the set + Impossible Things is much appreciated as well. leaves the question what we will see in a few hours, hopefully not a return to first nights set with 3 or 4 songs exchanged...

Thank you very much, J!
It sounds like a piano on this song. Did any of them play keys, or is on a backing track?

Tha melody that sounds like a piano or a 6-string bass is on the backing track. I was curious about that too so I ckecked it being there. Porl plays nothing in that segment, and then plays the heavy chorus arpeggios while Robert sings. Robert plays chords with some overdrive. There are quite a few recorded keyboards trhu the set.
Many thanks Jeff, see you later!!!

I really like this new/old song.  To me it is reminiscent of WMS,  kind of Jupiter Crash / Numb, also reminds me of Going Nowhere in the maturity...

I definitely welcome the combination of the typical Cure sentiment of regret,  mixed with new inspiration for subject matter.  Honestly, Robert does sincerity way better than cleverness, such as in Please project,  and the silly yelps that became him better when he was half his age.

And his voice is back in full force,  I missed this range for the last few years.

He shares a router with his neighbor, and his connectivity goes out periodically.  However, when it does go out, his torrent client does not automatically recognize that there is an internet connection, so he must do it manually.  Just stay connected and it will eventually come down.  I haven't heard his version, but this show was INSANE and is well worth the wait.

As I mentioned before, my iRiver crapped out this weekend, and of course it really went bad during this show.  So far I have been able to extract from FTEOTDGS through Never Enough.  I may be able to recover Prayers for Rain through Figurehead, and possibly Wrong Number through Disintegration.  I'll have a look at that today.  If I can recover those 2 files, I'll have the entire main set (minus Plainsong and the beginning of Prayers).

The iRiver froze at the start of At Night, so I turned into Macgyver and found a twist tie I had in my pocket, spliced it with my teeth, and used the exposed wire to push the reset button on the iRiver.  It then rebooted and showed it was recording the encores, but so far the file is showing as being 0 mb.  So I may not have the encores.  But, if I can at least get the main set, and if Sullen's show is still struggling this weekend, I'll put up the incomplete version just to hold everyone over.

I won't have time to do this before this weekend, though....She Wants Revenge is tonight!

No soundboards that I am aware of.  I actually asked the sound guy for a patch the first night and was politely turned down ..... :?

Well I dunno about The Cure, but a former coworker slipped the sound guy $500 at a show for a board patch, this was a rap show somewhere in the past. If the sound guy gets busted, he'll lose his shirt, so you have to somehow make it worth his while....

Now this is something I don't recommend doing because you could be potentially busted and escorted out.

I asked that if I were to bring in a Microtrack on the third night if I could get a patch for my own personal use.  I wasn't about to tell him I had my full gear on me the nights I was there (and I specifically said the 3rd night knowing I wasn't going to be there...of course if he said yes, I'm not sure what I would have done!).  The guy was really nice and very talkative so I thought I'd give it a shot.

I guess everybody has seen the comments regarding Curelivegigs.org at the end of the mexico torrent. Does anyone know if that for real or just a wind up as I suspect it is?

is this a joke??

Amazing there are so many circumstantial events of the night in question.

Get over the hurdles.. J's dedication is so far a noteworthy contribution and hard work, that this alternative note-slipping co-worker does not even register!! I would only take J's version!

Are there any other recordings apart from the one on dime we are longing for?

Any word on this?  I've been checking the seeds periodically and they're lowering.

there are at least 2 other versions out there, that people who are on dime taped, but will not share with dime people, even though they download frequently from dime (thats a little bit of hypocrisy for you). There is also a 3rd version that this guy from mexico is trying to sell. I think its rare swopper only, except these people are trying to trade for other rare swoppers from guys who do not trade anymore, so they will not have any luck there. By February when they keep playing these songs all over in the setlists in europe, then nobody will really care anyway

Good points.  I wish my computer was not on the verge of dying so I could post some stuff on dime (although, I am quite certain most people have a majority of the shows I've gotten in trades, especially here).  Oh well, when i get a new comp then i will be able to thank properly.

Well, now Ernie.  I seriously hope that wasn't directed towards me.  I have uploaded 3 Cure masters of my own (London 06 audio and video, Mexico 20 Oct 2007) plus many other masters of various bands- Hatebreed, She Wants Revenge, Interpol, Buzzcocks, Sepultura, Down, The Church ....the list goes on.  So while some of us aren't old school like you, just because we are grabbing new transfers of shows we already had does not make us hypocrites; rather purists.

Yes, I recorded night 2 using a Microtrack and an iRiver.  The iRiver's HD failed and I only got about 10 songs, all with skips.  The MT is incomplete as well since the guy that bought my ticket was late to the show.

Knowing that Sullen's show was complete and was close to being offered, I decided not to seed my show.  I also have another version of all 3 nights from a member of this site who is also a member of Dime.  He does not want his recording circulated.  His choice.  There is also a guy that recorded all 3 nights that refuses to torrent his shows because they just end up on the black market in Mexico.  His choice not to do that.

Hypocrisy to me would be your buddy Bert and his precious Mexico recordings.  We all know how close the 2 of you are and that you no doubt have copies.  Maybe you should upload them?

He wasn't referring to you.

You are also assuming Bert is hoarding without knowing his side of the story or whether he's interested in participating in the flood in the near future. Don't forget he was the one who coughed up his side of the Malcolm tape collection to have properly transferred with no DAT lineage for everyone to enjoy through DIME even though he wasn't the one to do it, but that's his participation.

Side note: I helped push the seed with you on Mexico 2 and now there are 20 to 50 seeders hopefully. Anyone else jumping on the torrent will get some silly download speeds. For those El Mercardo Libre el chopo sellers, may you have diarrhea for the rest of your lives for selling the hard work of others.

In addition, a lot of us are well aware of shows being sold once it hits mass distribution, even (our) masters new and old. Bottom line is this stuff will continue to happen but if you let it bug you then all this work with the flood will have gone to waste. Sure JJ won't be too happy if his masters are being sold but if in the end all the cure fans get to hear all the good stuff, isn't that what REALLY counts.

In a way I respect the decision of tapers who don't want to share their recordings online since there are people who profit from it, but in a way when they are caught downloading alongside fans and sellers, one could not help as an outsider wonder....other people took risks I'm sure also knowing it would be sold, why can't others do the same (also to help with the flood).

Case in point, I had the first source of U2 11/16/01 released via trades. Before BT there were SHN and FTP servers with guest logins and next thing you know it was all over ebay and maybe silvered. Of course I was upset but I got over it and don't really care. At least it is out there. Unfortunately part of the hobby, but once you accept the risks don't let it ruin the fun of it.

ASSumptions are dangerous. We're all on the same side. Let's not bicker over semantics.

bert doesnt trade anymore, he is out of the hobby at the current time...He was at download enjoying multiple cocktails (pooka and I can verify it first hand)and not having to tape since he is retired. he is not a dime member, has never downloaded a bittorrent, so he is NOT a grab all day, never seed type..Also, its been clear from day one I will not upload a tape from someone who has told me not to, so your not going to get a DS, AO, etc upload from me. They can make there own decisions as what to do. And if bert ever does decide to get into the BT thing, he will do it on his own time.

You can complain if you want, but Im up to about 40+ cure seeds, and there is less than a handful of people that can claim that..im doing my part

And about the mexican tienda thing, again its fine if you dont want to seed because of that. But think about it, like Pooka says, its going to happen whether you like it or not, it will not be erradicated. Those people are out there, they always have been and always will. As much as many dont want to admit it, bittorrent is still trading in a conceptual way. If everyone didnt want there shows up, but wanted to download all day....There would be nothing to download. BT offers the best solution for the probelm of a band thats been around for 30 year, it allows what is esentially uneven trading. And trust me, new cure tapers- traders and those who just grab 1 good torrent every once in awhile are certainly getting the best end of the deal. Wanted to be a new Cure taper in 1992, or 1996 and it wasnt so easy, if you didnt tape, you were not getting good stuff period. Curefans who have the first 2500 shows (you know the group of about 100 of us that have every single show, so anything thats 1gen better or a tape without a cut in it now is RARE SWOP because its ever so slightly different than the version out there) or whatever the number is through 2005 obviously are not going to expect a newer person to tape 2500 shows to do straight up 1 for 1 trades to get all those shows. If these newer people can help with the entire process, by just putting up the 1 or 2 new ones you do from next years tour, it will further along the flood of 1000+ Cure bittorrents you could see in the next year. Everyone wins, old Cure taper can still get the new shows, and people catching up on years 1-30 can be the benefactors of a flood of old cure shows. If people dont put up the new stuff, just sit on it or try to trade it for vancouver 87 that sounds like it was recorded in a toilet bowl, then the flood ends due to lack on interest and everyone looses.

look at it this way, I conceptually traded Download Festival out to you 2 days after the gig to about 500 people (By the way, for me to make 500 dat clones, 100 of which would have had digital errors, I still wouldnt have gone to post office!!!). That doesnt even include those that downloaded the digital set off alternate sites (which I was totally fine with). Now in the concept of BT being uneven trades, I know I am not getting 500 shows back (which old school way I would have expected 500 shows back, 1 for 1 style)...But if just 5% of the people downloaded the show actually tape one next year, and put it up, then there are 25 more masters out there that I can get and others can as well, a big win win for everybody.I think thats all people like myself, Pooka, Rainer, etc want to see.

sidenote: I was never referring to Jeff in the original post, you have done 150% of what you can and its appreicated. We all have technical issues from time to time and I am well aware having read about them

And I am not sure the point of the Karma thing, but how many of you who are giving me negative Karma or whatever its called, are somehow benefitting from the flood of bittorrents on dime (either on that site or by it being reposted somewhere else), are you really that bitter?

If Bert did do any trades recently, which I think one of these curefans will say so, it was only on a whim and because he wanted a particular show taped for a band he had an interest in. For a guy who is in retirement to actually get him to do a trade, it would have to be very special indeed. So yes he no longer trades on a regular basis or has time to.

As nice as it would have been for Bert to tape, there were approximately 7 to 8 audio tapers at Download Festival running. Granted a good chunk of them had technical problems (myself included) but in the end at least 3 people got them in their full glory and two of them put it up on DIME, with Ernst being the first one to put it out and of course the best version in the quickest amount of time.

Basically Bert did his time in the 80s and beyond in the Cure taping world. A lot of you have his older masters in some form or another anyway through trickle down trading. The fact that some of the shows got out this way is his contribution nonetheless. Don't forget Ernst did the same, how many of you out there have stuff like Fillmore 2000, Shoreline 2000, San Jose 97, Portland 96 before the upgraded DIME version etc. Likewise I let out a lot of stuff when I was still trading as well.

DIME should not be the only way to prove someone contributed.

I'm not sure Vancouver 87 is what rare swoppers are after. For some reason 2004 is their favorite year, like Mexico 2004, Phoenix 2004, Tampa 2004 JJ DAT and the list goes on. Not long ago it was Xacebo 04 and Villar 04.

Let's not do this for 08 please, especially those taping Europe 2008.

You all know the object of the game, you please a small segment of the Cure DIME flooders like the Rain Man, and more gems from his treasure box will flood out. Everyone wins including you. If you rare swoppers do not get it, I don't know what else to say.

i'll just say that this no swap trend for all those 2004 gigs just never ceases to amaze me - 2004. so much fuss about it all, has been and keeps going on so it seems. wasn't even such a great cure year (either live wise or otherwise).

+because i have a feeling that some sort of general accusations are being thrown into the air here... i'll just add that at least i am not sitting on any secret masters here. the cure hasn't even visited my country ever since WMS which was over ten years ago(!) and sorry i wasn't taping back then because i had no possibilities for it. and as i've never even been to the US in my whole life so no i wasn't taping there in tinley park/phoenix 2004 either.

Agree with japanesebaby. For instance, I've hear this famous "Villar 04" gig and it's probably one of the most boring live shows I'ever hear. Don't know yet why the people was so crazy about it? (of course I understand those who attended the show, but the rest?)

Anyway, best  Cure shows so far are from 1986, 1989, 1992. But that's another subject.

This is correct.  I taped a band that I knew Bert to be a fan of.  Turns out he was thinking about coming to town and seeing them, but opted not to since I offered to tape.  Got a nice trade from Bert, and no I am not rare swapping it.  f*ck rare swaps!  At some point I'll probably put it up on dime, though I'm awfully tired of getting bitched at for uploading shows that aren't my masters.  So, if I can track down a dude that was running Sonics and into Belly...  With that said I can respect Ernie's decision to not torrent recordings that aren't his masters or masters that have been acquired.  Your work is appreciated.   :smth023  For those curious about who I taped for Bert, here's a clip from the gig. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dvl3q7uGoUU  That's not my video, I was running audio that night.  Sadly, I went to see The Police the following night when I should have made the trip down I-5 to catch Helios Creed and Chrome in Portlnad.  Thank you Bert for introducing me to this amazing guitarist and band.   :rocker

Now, about the '04 shows and this rare swopper thing (and please refrain from EVER calling me a spider!  I am about as unspiderlike as they come).  '04 was NOT my favorite year, just don't care for shitty recordings and would love to hear quality when quality is available. Correction, available in some circles.  :?  It just sucks that Phoenix was taped and remains hidden, same for DATs from Mexico '04.  JJ's Tampa doesn't concern me.  I specifically added some shows (Denver, West Valley City) to my taping schedule in hopes of obtaining some of these hidden recordings.  Ernie told me he was going to the Red Rocks concert and didn't plan to tape.  Was quite pleased that I would be and sort of gave me the passing of the torch speech.  Hey, I'm stoked to be tapping for guys that are out of the hobby, have families, and are unable to travel for whatever reasons.  Just note that I'll have some requests just as you guys do.  But don't fear, I will up my Paris master when I return home a few days after the concert.  Might film that one, instead.  If that goes through I'll torrent that.  Would be nice if others in Europe put up their masters (audio and video).  No need to wait and see if the U.S. guys will share our masters.  I will, so will others.  Like I said earlier, f*ck rare swaps.

Ah, I diched the iHP and upgraded to an R-9 yesterday and am currently being talked into a Panasonic PV-GS500 3CCD cam : )

Shows I'll be at:

Paris
Chicago (maybe)
Denver
West Valley City
George
Vancouver
Santa Barbara
Los Angeles
San Diego
New York (maybe)

Im hoping to make it Santa Barbara, I've heard very good things about the Cure playing that venue.  I hope to get into recording shows one of these days.  I was looking at one of the show data bases that said someone used an 80 gig ipod to record, the Mexico shows, I believe.  I was wondering how well an ipod works to record shows?

If you're going to get into recording, best do it soon in order to practice.  Check out taperssection.com and absorb all that you can.  Pretty much any question you could ask has been answered.

Ok, thanks.  I was looking at it the other night and there was some informative information.  Orginally I was leaning torwards a MD player that a tapetrader buddy recommended, but now I am not so sure. (I should probably take this to the other forum.)

If price is an issue, why not check out the Zoom H2 handheld recorder:
http://digitalmedia.oreilly.com/pub/a/oreilly/digitalmedia/2007/09/13/review-zoom-h2-surround-recorder.html?page=1
In the US you might get it for below $200. This has a built in mic, which is actually OK. Or you can use it with an external mic.

I've got some Core Sound Binaurals-microphones to sell, if anyone would like to get into taping and need some cheap, but ok mics.

Ah, I diched the iHP and upgraded to an R-9 yesterday and am currently being talked into a Panasonic PV-GS500 3CCD cam : )

Shows I'll be at:

Paris
Chicago (maybe)
Denver
West Valley City
George
Vancouver
Santa Barbara
Los Angeles
San Diego
New York (maybe)

Congrats on the upgrade :smth023.  I need to dump the iRiver as well and may look at an R-9 or the MT 2.  The good thing for me about the MT2 is that I can use my existing CF cards that I use on the MT 1.

And I agree with BC.  Up those shows.  I upped night 1 Mexico and have a nearly complete night 2.  May up that one if there is any interest.  I will be hitting the following shows in 08:

Fairfax
Philly
Dallas
Austin
Houston
New York

I may be able to swing Fort Lauderdale and maybe Chicago as well.

+because i have a feeling that some sort of general accusations are being thrown into the air here... i'll just add that at least i am not sitting on any secret masters here. the cure hasn't even visited my country ever since WMS which was over ten years ago(!) and sorry i wasn't taping back then because i had no possibilities for it. and as i've never even been to the US in my whole life so no i wasn't taping there in tinley park/phoenix 2004 either.

yet on the less personal level: it's sad to see these certain people leeching and hoarding other people's work there but not bothering to share the slightest bit themselves. and it's sad to hear them even bothering to accuse other people of their sharing/generosity behind the scenes by sending out offensive pms.
this especially applies to video uploads.

if these people really can't see the good in what's going on on dime (or, if they only see it as a good opportunity to leech and hoard for themselves), then i'm afraid i have to agree with pooka that indeed it does give a rather sad impression of the community and yes it's hard to think of what else to say.

By February when they keep playing these songs all over in the setlists in europe, then nobody will really care anyway

IMHO every concert is different, the crowds, the recordings.. I prefer live recordings over anything mixed in a studio. It brings back memories of what this band can do LIVE.. decades down from where they first started out.. they just keep getting better. Each live recording is different and has unique experiences for those who attended. Not to mention the first-time played new songs from the new album! priceless.
Of course we will look forward to the European concerts and the setlists. Possibly some more new songs.

night 3 master has started it's journey to J's server (thank you!) before it gets to dime,
so it should be available for download within the next few days or so.

this is dedicated to the a****** who is selling the a/v recordings for 300$..

i wish i had brought my camera down,
i could have totally gotten away with it and walked out with 3 complete videos.
with the chaos of the biggest cure fans ive ever seen, and lack of security in the arena those 3 nights would have been no problem.....

oh well, big regrets, but what can i do.

night 3 is a little better quality than night 2 but still not great, because i was still far from the stacks, but it has better clarity to it.

Nosigner, lot of people who readed your post (including Scatcat, if you didn't notice) thought you're REALLY selling bootlegs, which is forbidden here.

You're free to make jokes, but for that we have the Off-topic/Something else board.

i honestly doubt that scatcat thought that was for real, as you can read by his answer. but maybe we should wait for scatcat to tell us this?
maybe the only person who thought that was for real was you no? i mean, considering that the only pm i got was from your mighty censorship, then i must assume that other people who read it got the message as it was.

Also was really nice to hear some new additions to the set after way too long.

2. October 21 because it was the best setlist ive seen since the dream tour (yes i missed the 02 tour)   :(

3. October 22 The Big Hand And Bloodflowers were awesome  <-- and elise was even though he forgot almost all the words, OOTW, kYOTO, Unstuck, great show.

Loved the wish, dis, and bf openers/closers each night too, great touch.

Will deff be making mexico a must on every tour.
